Re: Anyone here using an Antec 300 case?

I stopped using CC lighting some time ago because they draw quite a bit of power which can be better used feeding necessary components in the system. The last window case I had was one I put in myself, and that was not a typical window. The thing about a window case is that for some people it’s a good motivator for cable management. What I see from serious builders/modders these days is a move away from bling and towards functionality/cooling ability.

Re: Anyone here using an Antec 300 case?

Got everything installed last night and I am impressed with this case. This is my first time building a PC with the PSU in the bottom of the case, but it works great. Antec did a good job with this one... The only bad thing were the Thermaltake fans I bought. Those things are loud. They will be replaced.

I went ahead and moved the AX78 into the new Antec this afternoon.
Now when I do my next build I'll use the Gigabyte Mars full tower.
After thinking about it I decided that the smaller case will fit under my desk better than the Gigabyte and that's where the Abit will go eventually.

Never had CC lights Ratboy - just LEDs.

Re: Anyone here using an Antec 300 case?

I'm a novice builder, and I just assembled a basic system using a microATX board and the Antec 300. Can I get some help with a few things? I apologize in advance if these are stupid questions. First, I don't see the small three pin cable to control the system fan to plug into the motherboard. Can you turn off everything from the front power switch, or do you have to turn off the PSU? Secondly, the power supply LED cable has two wires on the outside positions of a three wire connector, but my motherboard has them on two adjacent pins. What should I do? Is there a 3 to 2 pin adapter or something? Thanks. BTW, I paid $40 for it tonight at microcenter, but it only had two fans.

Re: Anyone here using an Antec 300 case?

got my antec 300 set up and now I need to go back through all the packaging and see if there is an extra 120mm fan before I go out and buy some more
Plus I need to look through all my boxes of PC stuff that i have yet to unpack form the recent move to see if I have any 120mm fans.

Was looking at the YATE LOON 120mm Case Fan - D12SL-12 on jab-tech for $3.60 each. right now I don't think I need 2 in the front as the systems only has 1 HD, 1 X-FI extreme gamer, quad core (not OC yet), sata DVD burner and a 9600GT (GTX260 arrives tomorrow)

    Yes,

Moderate OC one 120 should be fine.
