    I will after I find a flash drive. I got so used to always having a broadband connection that I stoped using one. I usually email myself all the stuff I want to save and this way I can access it almost anywhere.

    Correction: Winsock didnt fix anything.

    Next thing to do is try it at a neutral site. Something where you can just plug it into someone's basic internet setup. I am sure that isn't the easiest to do, but unless he intends to format and reload, I'd say you're running out of options if you don't want to spend some money on a USB NIC or PCMCIA NIC for his laptop.

    I messed with that computer for about 2h yesterday and could not get it to work. My room mate turned it on today to listen to music and discovered that it works. Thanks pcper.
