Re: Rig turns back on after shutdown........

    Wow

So I think I find the solution to the problem of no shutdown with this,a new bios.

    http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Downloa...FLAG=A&SITE=US

I flash it with my pen drive and upon reboot i I have in front of me the weirdest POST screen ever.

It detect cpu and next it simply says

    Loading from Bank 01 ""

I have to pause screen to catch this, cause the next thing that happens is that it says
    press any key to continue

I do so and system seems to reboot and screen goes black as if it werent posting.
I cleared cmos 3 times through jumper and first boot is always same with this message of loading bank

Wth,am I gonna have to RMA this mobo?

Googled that error message, seems to be a problem with newer DFI boards, and none of the forum posts I saw had a solution other than RMA-ing.

    I would start the RMA.

Re: Rig turns back on after shutdown........

I should have caught this sooner.

I've come across this before. One thing that fixed it was simply replacing the PSU. My guess was that the Power-Good signal on it went bad and the PSU would think it's being turned on shortly after you turn it off. When I put the PSU in another system, it started doing the same thing..

I once had a problem like this on one of my older computers. I beleive it was due to a virus though. I know I had one on there but for some reason I was unable to get rid of it. The difference with mine was that there was no certain time when it would turn itslef on or off. It scared me the first time I saw this happen. Lol, I was walking by the room and all of a sudden it turned on. Gave me a good scare.

You might want to check out the DFI forum site. I did and found someone with your MB with the same problem and claims to have found the solution. It involves USB devices. It's worth a shot.

Re: Rig turns back on after shutdown........

Well I finally got the new board and rebuilt everything.

    Problems are still here.
    Same bios I had before.

I would like to flash to a new bios,(DFI has like 6 new ones posted at website)
but my issue is with supposedly needing ABS profiles to load @ post.

Thats what happen with last board,It wasnt a bad flash after all,it was the post screen trying to load an ABS profile for my board that I didnt have.

Thing is I have ABS installed through windows and I downloaded my boards profile for it,but I cant import it to one of the 4 banks.Thats my main issue.
So Im stuck afraid to flash the boards bios. And I need to do it to solve this no shutdown issue.I know a new bios will fix it,since one of the new bios from DFI specifically put this in notes "No shutdown with G15 keyboard)

Im positive that my problem cause I do indeed have a G15 keyboard. But im just afraid to flash.I dont want to end up like before.
This is amazing,Ive never had an issue flashing bioses till now.......

Good to hear it's fixed. When I sent back a dfi board they returned the same one (fixed though).

You can change the title your self just edit it (I think, never did it myself.) While there post the resolution in the first post as wall.
