There is something in vanilla that seems to mitigate any paint/epoxy odor.

It lessens the odor. Supposedly cut up onions actually absorb the fumes.
And I understand completely. Some of us are really sensitive to some fumes.

i find your attitude a farce (easily provable to others given the
previous e-mails to and from you... notably the one where you attempted
to make it more difficult for me to contact you after i noted i wanted
all correspondence in writing via e-mail and you decided to take snail
mail only in place of that. i see you have changed your mind) notably
since i've been complaining for a while about this and until now you've
done nothing but deny the issue. maybe your boss is more ethical than
you are (i contacted him the other day).

i will not sign anything you have for me other than a very simple thing
that says you've refunded me such and such rent or and something that
says i'm no longer responsible for the lease and that's that (i'm not
moving out before the 14th of december unless i find another place to
live. if i can i would very much like to move out).if this does go to
court you will be able to point to that and say that you've done
this... and from there make an argument equal to "why should i do
more? haven't i done enough?"

also, please leave the bathroom vent on (you turned it off today), and
please leave the bathroom sealed as i had it. i sealed it up on october
1st after you removed the blower. from the time you put the blower in
there, the day after the 22 of september, to the sunday after the 22nd,
i had that blower on 24/7. that sunday i started turning it off during
the day and closing the door. i would turn the blower on at night while
i was there.

i actually prefer the bathroom sealed as opposed having the blower in
there. if the fumes where as minuscule in volume and continued
production as you and Stephanie have asserted then i do argue that that
bathroom vent provides plenty of airflow to circulate the fumes out (as
i opened it today to turn back on the vent i was greeted with VERY
strong levels of fumes so i do believe your assertions false).

since i have sealed the bathroom some of the excess joint pain i was
getting has ceased (i do normally get some joint pain the day after
exercising but i was getting it in odd places where i normally don't
get much if any pain, my right knee for example). the relatively mild
dizzy spells i would get in the morning and evening after taking a
shower and dump in there have ceased although i have noticed myself to
be more sensitive to the fumes from mineral spirits (i stopped using
them today, and actually found using straight soap better at cleaning
them, but normally i would use mineral spirits after painting as the
first process in washing my brushes). they now cause me dizziness where
as in the past the wouldn't. my throat is no longer as raspy as it was
getting progressively over the 10 or 11 days i was exposed to those
fumes from the tub resurfacing.

i have been using a plastic bucket to whiz in. i have been using a
plastic tub bath in. and i have been using a cardboard box with a trash
bag in it to poop in (i toss the bag after using it). i find this
better than breathing the fumes.

i will not turn my a/c on as i don't have any use for it at the moment
and i don't want the fumes from the bathroom backing up into my vents.
it may be an excessive precaution but i find it reasonable enough in
light of the alternative of breathing the fumes.

please realize that i will be pressing any and all criminal charges
against you and waterview that i can. i have reported this to code
enforcement as well.

i do expect my rent from the 22nd of September onward (through december
14th when i move and and through to december 19th, the day before
siddarth moves in) back. this will not absolve you of what i said in
the previous paragraph. if i can i will still press criminal charges
against you and waterview. the reason i demand such a large amount of
rent back (note that i've prepaid through dec 19th... and the 14th when
i'm leaving) is that you have rendered my apartment in part unusable.
the sheet you gave me on polane b, the polyurethane based substance you
used on my tub states that the stuff takes "several weeks to cure".
that would be why it's still generating fumes. given how strong the
smell still is i have no doubt that it won't be generating fumes for
that "several weeks".

as far as cleanliness goes, i will keep my apartment reasonably clean.
please note that i will not be keeping it pristine as it is not my duty
to. i will keep it clean enough that it will not attract roaches (since
i have been living by myself i have not had a roach problem unless you
consider one every month or two to be a problem. i do realize there are
reasons for paranoia surround roach issues in these complexes as my
past room mates wouldn't even bother to close pot lids on loads of left
out food. i do not find a reason for any harassment from you over this
issue.). also, i will be leaving some papers on the floor near my desk.
it is easier for me to access them this way as i don't have a very
large desk. the pile of stuff in the right corner of my living room
will stay there and the tub that was holding it is now my bath tub.
as far as the stove, i forget to wipe it off sometimes. i had been
leaving the frying pan in the freezer (it's jsut easier to toss it in
there. you're not supposed to get water on iron as it saps it of it's
non stick properties. any mess on it usually just cooks off). i find it
odd that it was out and do not trust that you didn't remove it from the
freezer... but maybe i did just forget that too.

the bathroom and the a/c vents will stay sealed as long as i'm here for
the sake of my health.

I visit this site very rarely, thanks to you. I used to love this site, but I don't like them telling me that they can't get rid of your idiocy. oh, BTW mr. brains, the fumes were that big of a deal. after sic-ing the university on them they've decided to let me out of my lease, as soon as i can find a new place to live.

the bathroom has been sealed up since oct 1st (i've improvised on the bathroom bit with some trash bags, a big container, and a couple small ones).
been feeling a good bit better since i did that.

i should also note that bell told me to replace my bycicle helmet. i thought my old one (2 months old that is) was lighter in color. and lo, when i compare it to the new one i bought, same model, it is lighter in color (the foam itself, not the color scheme).

Before I moved into this apartment, the manager apparently had a company come in and resurface the tub. I moved in on the 1st of August and immediately noticed that horrible smell but figured it would go away after a few days. A few days later I noticed the bathtub was peeling and the smell hasn't gone anywhere. Everytime I shower, the smell seems to get stronger. It's now August 12th and it hasn't been fixed and I'm starting to get migraine headaches.. should I be concerned? I keep the bathroom door closed and the fan on. I also quit using the shower and have started washing up in the kitchen to the horror of my neighbors.

Go into the bathroom. Shut the door. Wait for at least 15 minutes while taking deep breaths. Come back and write about it.
