    Re: DreamCatcher’s WC Overclocking “Questions & Issues”

    The center surface of the nb hs is about 1/8" - 3/16" lower than the surronding fins. Ended up using two pieces of double side "foam" tape and did just that!

    As to the size I'm back to the idea of a 60mm as in theory 60 x .03937 = 2.36" an nominal 2-3/16". If the hole centers were approximatly 2-1/8" then by looking at the pic that looks right for a 60mm.

    That and $1.10 will buy you a 20oz coffee refill @ 7-11 here in VA.

    So what do you think of the nb temps now? Still need to lower them some more?

    ud on sunday
    too bad the bios/sensor for the nb isn't wrong.

    after you have your stability run. drop the vcore down to something reasonable like 1.425v and of course the oc. oh, say 2800mhz. then see how the nb temp reacts.

    that was too much like work and i think it was the g skill bitch slap that finally did it.

    "what am i doing wrong" when an oc goes south and the mem is the last thing on the list that we look for.

    recap of where we've been. the high points vcore 1.55 vdimm 2.5 nb 75c!

    when you were experiencing the 65-75c and did the finger test. besides nearly burning your finger, you could have melted the soles of your shoes.

    now your down to 50c where my comment from sunday may enter in.

    No I haven't pull the assembly yet as I'm in the middle of a double and it is sitting at home GPU folding. If you happen over to the worklog you'll see where I've tossed out some question vaguely descised as ideas about the NB cooler. I mentioned in a PM I believe or maybe here but even when the NB cooler was hot the VR cooler and pipe seemed hardly warm. As far as touching the NB cooler now that it is at 55-56C (not 50 ) I can't get around the fan to do the finger test.

    Also I'm in the process of hitting the Aqua Computer guy with another appeal for help as I can't seem to get the controller/monitor software to load correctly.

    If you mean why is the nb so dang hot in DC and fairly cool in Kermit...... I right with you!

    However if it is a flaw or a fluke I still need to cool it or loose it!

    Happy New Year BTW! Believe that is coming your way as it has already pasted here!

    Ubunto box and haven't managed to get any monitoring sw to work! Had planned on trying a supposed Linux friendly version of HWMonitor but after the first two tries gave up until I can get back to the Linux guys. When I get home in the morning I'll see how far into the SMP I am and my stop it long enough to go into windows and do a little "testing".

    Re: DreamCatcher’s WC Overclocking “Questions & Issues”

    Kermit:
    vcore = 1.45V
    vdmm = 2.0V
    FSB = 300 / 2.7GHz

    After running OCCT for ten+ minutes the cores ran close to DC's at 51 - 52C, but the AUX that I've associated with the NB NEVER WENT ABOVE 45C!!! That is 10C cooler than DC's NB. Is it possible that the CNPS 7500 is moving enough air that it cools both the NB and the VRs better than the sixty sitting right on the NB?

    I'm beginning to believe there may be something going on with the board......
