Computere Freezes - Any way to find out problem?

My computer has been freezing up randomly when Im using and sometimes it takes a min for it to become okay again. Then I might be able to work for a long time and then it can freeze up again.

Sometimes I have to just restart it.

Ive thought before that it might be my HDD so I did diagnostic check and it said that it fixed the necessary problems. But this still occurs.

Any program or way that could tell me what the problem is? Any help is appreciated. Thanks :]

Well, those programs that claim to fix faulty drives are rarely successful, and if they are; the success is short lived.
The only other thing I'd check is your CPU cooling/temps. Blow out the dust on your heatsink, and ensure your heatsink is properly mounted.

If your CPU cooling is good, I'd recommend backing up any important data ASAP, and invest in a new HDD.
