    Which ONE Athlon 64 X2 6000 VS Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma VS Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz

Hi guys i need your help, i'm changing my whole system and i'm stuck at which processor between:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor - Retail $76.00 USDLLS

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103272

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor - Retail
New arrival, Athlon 2.7GHz Black Edition $79.00 USDLLS

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103300

    AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail $104.99

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103244

I know there is a difference of 25-30 dlls, but my new rig is as follows and already is a lot of money for me, i want a good CPU for the moment and soon change it for a new AM3, this is what i have in mind:

ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Noctua NH-C12P 120mm SSO CPU Cooler - Retail

    HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000 HDS721010KLA330 (0A35155) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

SAPPHIRE 100256L Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

    PLUS the CPU to choose

I know i can get a better Video Card and CPU, but i guess those are good enough for now, i have been reading a lot of good stuff about the ASUS Mobo, and i know that will last a lot for me.

If you have any comment let me know

    Thanks

    Sincerely

Between the Brisbane and the Kuma, I would get the 7750, unless low power and noise is a priority (i.e. HTPC). The 7750 is Just faster than any other AMD dual core product.

    9600 vs. 7750?

Firstly I would get 9x50 revised core, not a 9x00 core. After that it depends on your usage. For heavily multi threaded apps, folding, video encoding, etc... teh quad core will come ahead. In gaming the dual core will be better since it has a higher clock speed.

For media playback, both are overkill.

    Re: Which ONE Athlon 64 X2 6000 VS Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma VS Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz

I use it as my home PC, sometimes to play some games, there been a while since i have not play, i like music, so to have all my collection, see videos, not a hard overclocker guy, just a little. My city is a hot city normally in 6-8 months of the year, so i usually get a nike CPU Cooler to do not have problem with my CPU. I've been thinking in get a 4850 Video Card but i do not know if i'll get a much better images over the 4670.

    Thanks

For your video card, dont be fooled by the HYPE! I am currently running a Sapphire 4670 512 meg card and I absolutely love it. It runs every game very well. Plus you can pick up another and crossfire it easily on the board you are talking about. Unless you are an extreme gamer, it is fantastic for video playback, it overclocks well!, and it never fails in anything I use it for. I use the same chipset motherboard as the one you want. Rock solid from ASROCK a780GXE. I do not remember the last time mine crashed. My system never crashes and I download constantly, and encode video. Video playback on this card is gorgeous! I was trying to upgrade to an ASUS 4850 and was disappointed at paying three times the price of my old video and the card was unstable with heat and poor clocks. The sapphire 4670 will overclock and it has a tiny fan and little if any noise. As far as longevity goes, the Phenom 9950 overclocks well and the four cores are lovely. I am currently running a 5000 Black edition at 3.2 ghz on stock cooling on the board so the 9950BE will be even better with four cores. I am running four gigs of Corsair ram on the board at 5-5-5-15 and it work great.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Which ONE Athlon 64 X2 6000 VS Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma VS Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz

I'm planning to save some money to buy a Phenom II but about the card i'm thinking about is this:

    SAPPHIRE 100258-1GL Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail $166.99

Is the double of the 4670

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102802

But i'm not sure if that $ will get me much better game play, video play or any other similar, or spent those 90 dlls instead in a better CPU or maybe more DDR2 Memory.

    What do you think?

Originally i was thinking in get the 790GX Gigabite Mobo, but i've been reading and the 790FX is the ONE if you plan to get a Video Card.

Dumb question, but i have ONLY one LCD Monitor, why i'll need two video cards?

    Is a good option to get 2 4670 instead of 1 4850?

    Thanks for your help

    Sincerely

Whoa... you just moved from budget to high end. Not the same price range at all.

    To answer your questions:

For game play, always spend more on the GPU. A 7750 with a 4850 will game better than a Phenom II with a 4670.

The 4850 is a very good card, and easily worth double the 4670. I would take that anyday over two 4670s.

Mobo choice is problematic for Phenom users. The newest chipset uses the 790gx NB which has an IGP, which most people who buy enthusiast level boards hav eno use for. The 790fx chipsets are expensive, and for those of us who have no interest in crossfire, it seems overkill. EIther way, I feel like you are spending money on something you won't use.

I would really like to see a good am2+, single GPU, no IGP, full size ATX board, with two useable PCI slots, and a better south bridge than the sb600.

This is the best I found:

    Re: Which ONE Athlon 64 X2 6000 VS Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma VS Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz

I really like the ASUS i choose but i do not know if i'm paying too mucho to have an 790FX mobo, newegg do not have the gigabite 790FX, they have some DFI which i know are excellent for hardcore overclockers, and some other too.

Is de 790FX with SB750 the best combination? i do not do any RAID array, does it worth the money? I do not plan to buy every year a new mobo as you see my system is an oldie but goodie system, nothing like todays, but it gave me a lot o good time, now is dead, no more enchiladas amigos, so i'm planning in get some stuff for a while, i guess phenom or AM3 stuff will stay for a while.

I do not plan to buy now the phenomII or the AM3 cpu, i can live for a while with the 7750 and with a good mobo like that asus. Why Asus? why that one in particular? well i just checked at newegg wich has the best rating mobo for a AM2+ plattaform, i went through some reviews and well i like what they said.

I do not know if buy a <100 dlls mobo will be as good as this or if the quality is a quality that will last as Asus, Abit, Gigabite mobos.

    Let me know your thoughts

    Thanks

With all i have in mind to buy i'm planning use about $650-700 dlls, which should include a Mobo, CPU, CPU Cooler, Video Card at least 500MB but thinking in 1GB, Hard Drive >700GB, 4GB of DDR2 Memory and a good Power Supply.

Do you think go for the nvidia chips instead of ati-amd? I like AMD as CPU, but i know Intel is well ahead, but i do not care, i think AMD has a really good cpu for the money you pay.

    Thanks

If you are intent on getting an enthusiast level board, go for the 790fx. You get a very good board for the money with the m3a79. Copper heatpipes, the new sb750 southbridge, solid capacitors. Plus you can bet that Asus will issue BIOS updates and support all the upcoming AM2+ CPUs from the Phenom II line.

It's just that your needs are far more modest, and you could save some cash there.

I have the GB version of the 790fx and I am extremely satisfied.

Raider, where did you get it? how is the price? what is your opinion in the DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136057

I really like the options the Asus has also the Bios profile option.

So the best of my original question is the 7750KUMA with the 4850?

Why do you use two video cards? Do you have two monitors?

    Thanks

Why bother? The X2 6000 runs at 3.1ghx stock. I'd save the $3.00, overclock it to probably 3.3 to 3.5ghz and forget about the 7750.
