Sound blaster live 5.1 vista but no sound?

I'm running vista x64 ultimate sp1 and i installed my sound blaster live! 5.1 since it sounds better than my crappy integrated audio. Anyway the driver installs from Microsoft update and installs the device but i'm not hearing any sound. But when i'm in vista, and click on playback devices it shows the device working and in use, the audio bar goes up and down but nothing through my speakers. I have everything plugged in right etc. When i go to the speaker configuration setup and test 5.1 only the front left displays sound waves and it never continues to the center or front right. It's just stays on the front left yet i hear Nothing. please help.

YES. Everytime i install the driver my system locks up... When i first put the card in like 2 hours ago windows installed drivers and everything. But there was no sound. spkr config setup showed only front left working, but i didn't hear anything. I used to run this sound card in xp about 6 months ago and it's a heck of alot better sounding than my integrated. I'm thinking of install xp for now.. or Any way to easily dual boot? Or something? Any program to let me run xp or vista? doesn't partition magic have like a boot magic?
