    Help me Overclock

I got this new system setup and need help lowering the latency of the memory and hopefully improving the performance.
Check out the pic and tell me what you think.

    Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme
Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme 965 (Bloomfield)
    Memory: TR3X6G2000C7GTF - DOMINATOR GT, 6GB (3x2GB), 2000MHz, 7-8-7-20, with Airflow fan
    Power Supply: Ultra X3 ULT40070 1600W
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista (64 bit)

Ummm, if your at 4.1Ghz, you don't need help. Getting the memory latency down should be as simple as lowering it in bios and maybe giving it a bit of memory voltage bump to stabilize it. But truth is, CAS 9 on DDR3 really isn't damaging for general performance at all. Sure, benchmarks will show a tiny difference, but that should stay well under 5% difference.

Looks to me like your doing pretty darned good on your own without any help

Edit: The only real difference in what you've shown versus lower latency of CAS 8 for example, would be you MIGHT pull in a sub 10 second SuperPi score. That's about it.

I would say you are in the minority if thats your intended 24/7 OC, thats some serious qpi and vdimm you're running.

In all seriousness you are already at 2ghz on the memory as is which is a major feat in itself!

So we're in agreement then. Ratm3000 is already doing just fine without any help needed. Not sure there's anything anybody could really tell him that he doesn't already know. 4+Ghz CPU, 2Ghz ram, sounds like a solid OC job to me.

    Re: Help me Overclock

I ran the system for a longer period of time and after a few minutes I get a blue screen saying it is dumping memory and then the computer restarts and this repeats.
What would be an ideal QPI frequency and I am also trying to get the RAM to work properly at 7 8 7 20 @ 2000mhz which is the stated for:
    TR3X6G2000C7GTF - DOMINATOR GT, 6GB (3x2GB), 2000MHz, 7-8-7-20, with Airflow fan
    Ultra-high performance 6GB DOMINATOR GT kit for Core i7 systems. 2GHz, 7-8-7-20, 1.65V.

I believe QPI is supposed to be as close to double the memory speed as possible, but cannot confirm it as I cannot find that guide that had all that info. Google around a bit and check that, I cannot find it.

    Re: Help me Overclock

I have had success with loading the XMP Profile #1 before it would just freeze up; I ran it over night at 1600Mhz from the Memory Level Up and tried to run XMP Profile #1 which is 7-8-7-20 @2000Mhz and it is working fine now still seeing if it is going to be very stable and then I will proceed to OC the CPU back. As I am still doing research on the best way to OC the 965.
Please keep posting your inputs as they are greatly appreciated.

    Memory: XMP Profile #1
