    What bit is my program?

Hello, I hope some of you can help me or point me in the right direction.

My company had a software program made back in 90-91. It has worked on XP and Vista.

The problem is the 64 bit versions.

I did some research and it seems that 64bit OS's will run 32bit programs BUT it will not if those 32 bit programs are using 16 bit installers and uninstallers.

I have no idea how to check this. The company that programmed the original software is out of business so I can't ask them.

    Anybody have any idea?

    Thanks

I already know it does not work on 64 bit computers. I was just wanting to know if there was a way to look at the original program and see if it had a tag somewhere that says if it was 16 bit or 32 bit.

I know you can sometimes right click on an EXE and tell it which version of windows to run ie. 95, 98, XP. I did that and it still won't work.

I will look into the VM, that might work. Thanks for the info Brandito.
