The US health care system is 'dead last' (compared to any other) in at least one department: Cost.

Im sorry to hear that about your mother but what on earth makes you think the goverment is gonna cut costs?
The government is doing it NOW and actually doing it with her care. See real life experience is why on earth I Know this.

I have one serious question to the liberals who in the hell is going to pay for this ? Seems Obama cant even answer this question without being definitive.

    Adjective: definitive
    1. Clearly defined or formulated.
    2. Of recognized authority or excellence "the definitive work on Greece".
    3. Supplying or being a final or conclusive settlement "a definitive verdict".
Sounds good to me but then again I'm not a liberal, I'm a socialist and I'm scheduled to receive my 1st socialist security payment in October.

sadly they wont. Instead they for the most part are in the process of destroying the middle class. What they dont understand... that without the middle class... they will still be poor.

You really want government controlled health care?
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...ns-groups-say/
Amid growing controversy over procedures that exposed 10,000 veterans to the AIDS and hepatitis viruses, the Department of Veterans Affairs is now bracing against news that one of its facilities in Pennsylvania gave botched radiation treatments to nearly 100 cancer patients.

Veterans groups and lawmakers say VA hospitals have permitted these violations because federal regulations allow doctors to work with little outside scrutiny. They say the VA health system, with its under-funded hospitals and overworked doctors, is showing signs of an "institutional breakdown," in the words of one congressman.
Yeah, the government is so efficient and those people are so smart. The people in charge of the VA are so good that they will fix the private system.

Re: Obama's "Public" Health Care Plan

    More stats. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...appy-coverage/
The Kaiser/ABC News/USA Today survey found that about 13.4 percent of Americans were uninsured (a number slightly smaller than the 15.5 percent estimate used in policy debates from a Department of Labor survey). In crunching the numbers, since 13.4 percent multiplied by the 17.5 percent of the uninsured said that they were "very dissatisfied," it follows that out of all Americans, only 2.3 percent are both uninsured and "very dissatisfied" with the care they receive.
We are going to scrap our system because of 2.3%. I hope not.

    more.
As the Obama administration pushes for a national health care plan, studies show that most Americans are overwhelmingly happy with their own health care -- but they are dissatisfied with the country's overall system, because most Americans who have insurance believe that those who don't have it are not receiving care....
...A majority of the uninsured are not desperately poor; about 60 percent of them have personal incomes over $50,000 per year and pay out of their own pockets when necessary, rather than paying for insurance. Others manage to obtain care at highly discounted rates as charity cases.

But there are two other reasons why most uninsured are satisfied: About 14 million of the "uninsured" qualify for Medicaid, and pre-existing conditions do not exclude people from joining the government program. As a result, many who are eligible for Medicaid wait until they need care to register, so they are effectively insured at all times even when they are not formally enrolled in the program.
so, people are only unhappy with our system because they "think" so many others cannot get healthcare even though they do and the people who don't have insurance are okay with our system because they know they can get care if they need it.

Why is it IIRC 1 in 4 bankruptcies are the result of medical problems? You forget many people who ARE insured get dropped by their company when they need it the most.

People might claim it is because of medical care costs because they don't want to say, "I couldn't afford my McMansion and then I got sick". Or, "I was in debt $20k on my credit card and then I got pregnant". I would view that stat with great suspicion. I personally do not know anyone who declared bankruptcy solely because of medical bills. Lots of people do just stop paying their medical bills when things get tight though. What are they going to do, repossess your kidney?

Sounds like you fall in that category of "but other people aren't getting health care!"

That's been debunked almost as often as the 46 million uninsured Americans. Even here in TLR.

I thought this was going to happen. Health care costs going up. Should have been more efficient. Did you take my advice to do something about it? No. You guys should have been more efficient. Anyway. I'm very satisfied with my health care in NZ.
