But it's only interstate commerce because Congress doesn't let me get a plan licensed by another state. They created the interstate commerce some 60 years ago, and now they're trying to use the commerce they created to do what they want via the commerce clause.
Sorry, but seems like this:
was just a statement to get the likes of Scooter and Dutch upset.
This idea that the GOP is somehow responsible for Obambicare because the idea for a mandate was birthed in the GOP tilted Heritage Foundation and supported by the likes of Gingrich is all abuzz on the usual liberal sites and now even by Obambi and his political minions. To now point across the aisle is as laughable as it gets.
A good answer to it is a simple one... the GOP aborted the idea after taking a closer look at the ultrasound.
Why do you think Obama never went after Single Payer aggressively? He was still foolish enough then and was in full-on bi-partisan mode. That's why so many republican ideas made it into the health care bill. He wanted the republicans to take ownership of it. After taking a closer look at the ultrasound, they realized a black baby democrat would get all the credit and aborted it![]()
I love the the rhetoric from the left of late. Obamacare was a repuggie idea.
Not a single repuggie voted for it...
(D)emorats had to pass it using reconciliation because of no repuggie support...
Yet it's now owned by repuggies...
According to libberals...
Where'd that squirrel go?

"The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us...
Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business."

You have a different recollection of what happened. I don't remember any bi-partisanship mode other than words at the podium while the Democrats spun their healthcare plans behind closed doors. Something about "I won". Don't you remember that?
Yeah, it was a race thing. A cluster f**k of a miserable failure because the Republicans didn't give him what he wanted. He wanted the republicans to take ownership of it. After taking a closer look at the ultrasound, they realized a black baby democrat would get all the credit and aborted it![]()
Its the Democrat's bill. They wrote it. They had their big dog and pony show. They conned and bribed and lied to get the votes they needed amongst themselves. They passed it at midnight. By themselves. Now its seen as big-arsed failure. So now the Republicans came up with the idea.
Are you serious?
That's a rhetorical question.
I seem to recall Republicans being pretty much against ObamaCare all along.
And Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats knew what was going on. They have an idea who's going to vote for what. NO Republicans voted for ObamaCare.
If you really think that Pelosi and Obama were trying to make ObamaCare bipartisan, then Pelosi and Obama are huge idiots, because the Republicans tricked them, made them write an unconstitutional bill and then voted against it.
The mandate is out!!! Obama is getting rid of it!!! Its done!!! No more!!!
Its now officially re-named the "Personal Responsibility Clause".
How cool is that? Same shit, new name, no problem.
And if you're paying close attention, its now a bi-partisan bill. That's what they say. It must be true.
I guess I should have said "former" republican ideas. As in they were republican ideas that existed in mainstream republican circles before a democrat got into office....hence a starting point for bi-partisan health care reform. Republicans all of a sudden had no ideas...at least when the socialist terrorist black panther party president took office.
Republicans came up with the ideas, democrats put them into law to the strong objection of republicans. Republicans are now cheering the demise of their own ideas. Yup, Mitt Romney is definitely your guy fellas.
Oh, and if the supreme court does overturn ACA? Guess what? You own it. So might be time to come up with a plan to fix it. One that you all can agree upon regardless of who sits in the WH.
Path To Prosperity
I seem to remember all but 5 House Republicans voting for this last year.
