Looks like it is Einstein. Now if we could just get somebody to write us a Cuda app for it we would kick some butt.

Are there any optimized apps for Einstien?

    Re: Jul POTM Poll

Right now I don't think so. Sometimes they are testing beta apps that are usually optimized over the standard apps though. There's a link on the main Einstein page to find it but unfortunately all I'm getting right now it this:

Einstein@Home is down as the result of a fileserver crash. I am working on repairing
the filesystem now but I do not have an estimate of how long this could take yet.
Further news will be posted here when we know more.

    Thank you for your patience.
Hopefully everything will be back up by July 1st.

If its not up, maybe we'll have to try another project for the month.

Still down and it's decision time. Do we stay with genlife until einstien comes back up or do we go with the #2 choice which was docking? I have 0 experience with einstien so I don't know if this is common or if it will be fixed in time.

    Re: Jul POTM Poll

Einstein has usually been a pretty stable project. But a fileserver crash can be a pretty major issue. So depending on their disaster recovery plan they have in place it could take a while to recover. Seeing as its taking over 48 hours, I'd expect their plan isn't, um, a solid system critical quality. So I'd be tempted to opt out to choice #2 or Genlife as I'd expect them to be down a while longer (days or weeks).

I haven't tried Docking my self. But it looks like it should work with my equipment no problems.

Its another medical project. They seem to be pushing their University connections so I can't tell if its for profit or not. In either case I'm up for it.

Let's go with Docking if Einstein isn't all better in time.

Docking@Home is a pure non-profit effort. The project is composed of academic researchers that are funded by public agencies [NSF and NIH] to benefit the public.

    ^^^Cool!

If on the off chance we don't do Docking this month, I'm definitely going to vote for it next month.

Just checked and einstien is still down. I didn't expect it to be up with this being a Sunday. I guess if it is not back up by the time I leave work tomorrow I'll set them to docking. I can always change it back later.
