Buu is interested in it. Someone from school is selling it to raise money for a car. It includes a 20GB hard drive and one controller. Good deal or no?

from the prices on ebay it seems decent.
Check the warranty. Im guessing its one of the older models and you will want some insurance for the inevitable RR.
The price is so-so...

If it has HDMI, then go for it.

Oak tree, you're in my way.
Is RR something that happens as they get older or is it more of a manufacturing defect that occurs within a few months after purchase?
The owner purchased it last year, not sure of the exact month though.
How long is the warranty and is it transferable if sold?

To clarify, this is a xbox360 with a 20gb hard drive, 1 wireless controller and battery, and gears of war 2 for $150. They're all used but working and the fact it's from a friend in school helps. It's down to the warrenty issues.
He says he bought it last year which means it should have an HDMI
The warranty is out, but as long as he/she never took it apart, they are easy to fix for anyone that has put a cpu heatsink on a motherboard, there are great how too's on you tube. If they took it apart already they might have fixed it .
Good price if it has hdmi .

The current owner is a self-described tech n00b so I doubt it's ever been taken apart. I thought MS extended the warranty to 3 years for the red ring problem? I did some googling and it seems the warranty isn't transferable but the original owner could handle after-sale repairs if they are willing.

Personally, I wouldn't consider a used/refurbished Xbox 360 manufactured prior to this year. The 20GB model was manufactured and offered for sale between late 2006 and most of 2007, before the switch was made to a 60GB model. Regardless of how well it was maintained or how rarely it was played (prior to it being resold now), it's only a matter of time before the RROD appears and Microsoft customer service will need to be contacted (by the original owner) for a coffin (as the warranty is not transferable).
There were numerous hardware revisions to the board, CPU and GPU in the past 4 years; this timeline should give prospective buyers a better idea as to what they can expect, whether buying new or used.
MS isnt even sending out coffins anymore.

Coffins? Is that like a pre-paid shipping box?
