    Wireless Access Point

I have a wireless router set up in our business but it doesn't reach to the other end of the building. I need a access point that boosts the signal without cables as routing a cable isn't an option. Will just any WAP work? Like this one:

Or are there different kinds of WAPs where some need a cable and some don't, possibly a bridge?

edit: the wireless router is a Belkin Wireless N

I don't think it'll work according to what I read in the User Manual found on the Linksys product page. On page 13 they say it'll only work with another Linksys WAP/Router.

And then on page 14 they talk about wirelessly bridging two networks.

Unless they are just really trying to push their own product, I read it as being incompatible with anything else.

The easy and for sure way to make it work is to disable the wireless on your Belkin and buy two of these Linksys WAP. That is, if the signal will reach that far between them.

alternatively if there is such a restriction you could try flashing the firmware with DD-WRT, it's much more configurable and setting up a WAP is a piece of cake.

Although I'm not particularly supporting this idea as it may void any warrenty, here's a list of Belkin routers that DD-WRT supports:
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...Devices#Belkin

The advantage with using this is it allows you to bypass the normal safety limits put on the wireless power output. Hence you may be able to 'turn up the juice' and effectively increase your wireless range.
