Got an old box that you think is not worth running for a measly 2-300 credits a day? Before you shutdown, giveaway, recycle or just plain toss it out you may want to reconsider its potential. Have a look at this. What you saw was not a mistake or error. That is an old Athalon single core and an old P4 that are earning about 50,000 credits a day each. My guess is that you would like to be able to do this too. First look at your box to determine if it has a PCIe or AGP slot. If it has a PCIe slot then you have more options than an AGP. If it has a PCIe slot then for a modest investment you can put an ATI 4850 card in it and earn about 50,000 credits a day at Milkyway. Invest a littlte more in a 4870 and earn 100,000 credits a day. You can also run them at Collatz but you won't get as much credit.

If your stuck with AGP, you can put a 3850 in it and increase your output. The trick in both situations is to not run any work on the cpus. Leave them free to keep the Gpus fed with work. The way I see it is that for a modest investment you can keep an old computer crunching while earning excellent credit.
