    Re: Windows 7 - 30$ for students

Grab them while you can - a report I was reading a few days ago was talking about suspending this offer until the 1st of January. Apparently they were giving out a lot of Win7 to anyone with a .edu email address - regardless if it was still valid or not. oops!

    • You can choose win 7 Professional (there's an area that says "Need to connect to your school's network? Click here")

I'm glad I got in on the ACM offer before it closed. I actually am a CS major so I don't feel bad about it. XD

    Yes. You can.

From what I was told by people who bought it, you are getting an upgrade version, not a full OEM license...

Keep in mind that XP is elligible for upgrade, but of course requires a reformat...

AaronB, you mean an e-mail address with an accredited university and not a domain name, right?

They do the same in Australia (but the US prices are better). It's not just Windows you guys are eligible for either. Here's a link to the US page.

Poci, over here you can download the installation package or get the CD/DVD's from your college or uni (try the bookshop). In both cases you get the installation key online. Might be a different method in the USA though.

You have the option of either them sending you a disk, or downloading an iso, with the latter being a few dollars cheaper because of shipping and what not. Apparently if you call M$ at the number provided in that slick deals link, they send you retail for $34, as opposed to digital river which costs 40something.

So for 34 dollars they send the retail disk?
