Athlon II vs Phenom II

Just wondering if the extra cache on the Phenom IIs make a difference when crunching.

Yes It should, in fact if your overclock the north bridge on a phenom ii which is relative to the L3 cache speed you will see a diference when compared to stock speeds

Thanks, I picked up an X3 705e. I won't be overclocking since I'm trying to keep it somewhat low power and quiet. Ought to work nicely.
