    tortoise and the hare

I'm the tortuga, baby. Anyway, thanks to all the slackers, I'm gonna reach my goal to move from like 120th place 4 months ago (on the frogs team ranking) to the top 20 by next month.

How come (almost) everyone quit crunching?

(oh, I'm "Billy" on the frogs team ranking list BTW)

Well, in central Texas electricity ain't cheap and this summer was brutally hot. So you cut back on how many rigs you got running. Then you go on vacation for a couple of weeks and shut most everything down. You get sick on the flight back and setting everything back up just isn't a priority. Then just as you're starting to feel better you get hit with the flu. And when you do finally get around to firing that system back up you're greeted to an ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM message. But it's cool 'cause I've got a couple of things planned.

I'm pretty sure most of them are still crunching, maybe not Seti at the moment, but there are many interesting projects within BOINC. My goal was 1 million in Seti. I hit that earlier this year and now I need a new goal.

I am turning in 8,000 a day now, should be in the top twenty within 2 weeks!

There's only a few peeps left turning in SETI work, so I might be able to get in the top 10 before this is over! I guess most people have been duped into assisting the eugenecists with the DNA sequencing stuff, which is depressing

Nah, they're not all DNA/medical related. I also like helping disprove the existence of gravity waves. Maybe I'll jump back on Einstein after hitting 100k in a couple more projects. If Seti gets an app that works with ATI cards I might just go back a little sooner though.

    Greetings,

Well, you will have a little competition when i finish moving next month. Ill be breaking out my entire farm and pushing nothing but SETI. I also plan on picking up a pure GPU rig for it as well.

Glad to see ya my new friend.
