Hydra tests I want to see when you can!

I've been watching the Hydra since it came out, it's an awesome piece of technology!

I know you guys had limited time with it, but I was curious as to if, when you got ahold of a shipping board, you could test it in professional 3D applications.

I also would like to know if Hydra will even work with openGL at all.

Lastly I'd like to know if Hydra tech will, if it can work with openGL, accept a mix of professional line ( quadro/firepro ) and gamer line ( geforce/radeon ) cards.

The short answer is no, there is no OpenGL support yet. Right now their driver only intercepts and interprets DirectX calls and information.

Nooooo! I really want to be able to toss a larrabee, softmodded AMD card, and nVidia card ( possibly also softmodded ) together and get the best of all worlds in CGI!

I'm expecting some REALLY nice ray tracing from larrabee.

Well that is a long way out, so it might still be possible. But for now, I wouldn't be saving up for it.

It would actually be cheaper to get all three gamer cards than it would be to get a single professional card.
