Getting the most out of my old PC

Hi there, I'm looking for a little advice. I'd like to get the most out of my 2006 PC. I'm thinking of finally upgrading my Socket 939 CPU to this AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 6000+ but I'm not sure that's the best CPU available under $100. Any ideas? http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Dua...8665061&sr=8-2

That cpu is most likely an am2 socket (based on a user review) and wont fit your 939 board.
Ebay might be your best bet for a dual core 939 cpu as they've been discontinued for a while now ...

I have a 4400 toledo core x2 that is one of the steppings they used for some opty's way back when, ran great in my DFI lanparty, I root through my closet full of computer crap if I find it you can have it for free. That is if your interested, it overclocked pretty well too...

Sadly I went through all my stuff and the only thing I found was my 3700+ Sandy. Whish I still had one of my Optys as they worked great for me. But shop around and see if you can find yourself a 165, 170, or 175. While the 165 didn't work on my mATX, it seems to have been the best screamer on most ATX ones.
