New Build, What Should I do to Make Sure it Runs Right?

So, I just finished buying all the parts for a new build. Now I want to know, what utilities should I run once I finish putting it together to make sure all the components are working correctly?

Prime95 running the torture test on blend will check everything except the gfx. 3DMark Vantage is probably the place to start at least for the gfx.

Thanks for the hint, I'll try them both.

Any others, for like memory, CPU, power supply, etc?

OCCT has provisions for test all components of a system >> http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/

    Memtest86+ >> http://www.memtest.org/

Super Pi used to be the thing but it was only single core. I like Hyper Pi as it will do all cores >> http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...d.php?t=176904

    AND don't forget monitoring.......

    CPU-Z & HWMon >> http://www.cpuid.com/software.php

    SpeedFan >> http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

    CoreTemp >> http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

Heh...honestly I usually just start playing games on my systems right after I build them...If I can play my games and use the computer normally I don't really care about anything else...
I don't think you need to go running every stress test if you are just testing for regular functionality (unless you are overclocking)

    Ahh my bad...completely didn't notice....

I usually go with the traditional Orthos + Memtest86 + HWMon/CoreTemp for CPU/RAM and 3DMark or play whatever games I usually play for a while to test gfx.
5770 is a pretty easy overclocker, I can more or less just slide the sliders all the way over in Overdrive on mine without any sort of other modifications, but if you need more volts on it you can always get MSI Afterburner if your card is of reference design.

Thanks, by the way which of the eight cores that show up in Speedfan are actual cores, and not just the hyperthreaded reflection?

I find BC2 to be a good stability test.
Source engine from valve as well.
