With only 96 shaders this http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814186016 folds only as well as a 9600GSO correct? If I were to pick up two for folding what would you concider a "reasonable" price?

Yeah been looking 250s it just that I'm trying for two GPUs(if I can get the #@*%# XFX 750a SLI to work) not in SLI but for folding. Shooting for 100 - 150 max for both so have been doing the ebay thing. Would like 2 x 8800GTS 512s for shaders, size, and rear exhaust coolers.

If one goes with a GTS250 is there anything to be gained in folding by going with the 1GB varient over the 512?

I don't think you 'll be needing 1GB for GPU-Folding soon. I 've not seen any warnings for people with cards with lower amounts of memory and it 's not as if you can run more than 1 Client on a GPU card (like in the multi-core CPU systems)

Another bonus point of the GTS250 against 2x 8800GTS is the power consumption; the later the chip family, the lower the power consumption per point and a lot less heat to be disposed off !

The big advantage of the GTS250 over a G92 8800GTS is power consumption and heat, correct?
