    SSD Vista 64 Trim Support

I would like to upgrade my Vista 64 computer with a SSD. I am concerned about Trim and garbage collection but I am not very knowledgeable about
these issues. Are there any SSDs that support Trim and garbage collection
for Vista 64? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Most all SSD's support trim, it may take a firmware update, and the same with garbage collection. Unfortunately Vista doesn't support trim.

Re: SSD Vista 64 Trim Support

I use OCZ SSDs in raid which also does not support trim.

I just log off once a week and let it sit all night while Garbage Collector does its thing.

Have never had a problem with mine.

Am not sure which manufacture you are looking at but some also have a manual trim program you can run in Vista.

TRIM will never work with vista as fair as I know
Garbage collection should always work and I would also love to know which cheap SSD would be best for vista.
SNV425 does not look that bad:

Also OCZ Summit (assuming you can find one on the cheap) with new firmware has GC but I've heard it can be slow...

Thanks for all your replies. I found OCZ has it own Trim program for
Vista called Wiper.exe for its VERTEX drives. So I guess I will go with
    them. http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/wi...ws_on_a_VERTEX
