Crysis 2 Trailer in Times Square

Crysis 2 Trailer in Times Square — There was a big event for Crytek's upcoming title Crysis 2 today in New York. People who were in Times Square were privy to a trailer from the upcoming game. Obviously I was on the other side of the world when it happened, but what I have seen is a recorded ...

For some reason I cant imagine that Crysis 2 will be seen as the leading edge of graphic technology especially if they are making it for consoles. I assume the countdown is for the official website opening?!?

I just hope it is at least twice as long as the original Crysis was. IMO, it was far to short. I thought I was just getting started good when the game ended.

    Heres what I dont understand.

2007: Crysis is realeased on PC with graphics still pretty much unmatched.

2010: New Cryengine is also developed for consoles and pc. Yet the older Cryengine is DX 10 and the new Cryengine should be DX 9 only due to consoles?

Am I missing something or will it be DX 11 on pcs?

    It better be DX11.

If this game is great (it will have to prove itself) I will build a DX11 rig early next year.

It'll have the ablity for all 3 version of DX, though the console port will only run the DX9 version.

It'll be similar to the way you can choose in metro 2033 from what i've been hearing (but with a much much greater option selection. lol)

I was not all that impressed with the trailer, not for the graphics, but because the guy in the nano suit just stands there reading a piece of paper as his military buddies get slaughtered behind him.

    What a douchebag.

Of course they switch it to inner city stuff. Consoles cannot handle high detail outdoor environments, and it gives them more of a reason to cut out the physics. "It's unrealistic to knock over a building"

Blech. My hopes are not high.

During the tech demo for CryEngine3 which was shown on the 360, you could come close to doing that. The physics are going to be pretty intense.

It's on 5 to 6 year old technology. It's like comparing a duron to a core 2 duo. Yeah it's intense and awesome for what a duron can do, but meh...

Re: Crysis 2 Trailer in Times Square

I had a E6600 CPU and a 8800 GTS (320 MB) when the first Crysis came out.

Needless to say, performance on my PC was less than spectacular (Far Cry 1 still seemed a lot more fun, Far Cry 2, even though it ran, felt too watered down).

Anyway, would Crysis run at full res on a E8400 and 285GTX?

Also, has anyone tried the multi-player? With BFBC2 out, I almost can't imagine playing anything else...

Has the time for Crysis 1 come for the less serious gamers?

    Q9300 with 4 GB DDR2 1066 RAM
UltraSharp 2408WFP (needs to be RMA'ed) on GeForce GTX 285 on two 18 amp 12V lines
    Audigy X-Fi Fatal1ty w/ Logitech Z-5500 & Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and HD 595
plus the usual stuff in a poorly designed Antec P180 PW case

No, not and be smooth running. Close though. I didn't have too much stuff turned down and only experienced really noticable slow downs in some more intense fights, etc.

I ran it at 4320x900 on my sig system.

Before I gave my copy away, I ran Crysis at 1680x1050 with everything on enthusiast sans shadows, which I kept on mainstream/medium, and anti aliasing was off.

The game ran 17-22 FPS but with vsync enabled I didn't really notice.
