    I do have a question! If not all network adaptors support the full 9K jumbo frames, will mixing 7K and 9K stuff have a negative effect on the network?
    Haven't had any issues on my network, except when I try to force frame sizes.

    Have a gigabyte K8N pro with a realtek 81xx series NIC ( had to look at site, it's currently having Ubuntu put on it ) that seems to be blatantly ignoring its MTU size setting in windows XP. It's set to 7K but isn't working.

    Windows will not effect your ubuntu settings, it has to be set in each OS.
