How much a GTX 275 SC from EVGA will sell?

    Hey all,

I'm looking right in the eye of Fermi and my 1 year old 275 doesn't seem powerful anymore (Especially in Alien Swarm). How much would a EVGA GTX 275 SC go for with only minor cosmetic scratches and in perfect working condition?

I have been looking for used cards lately and what I am finding are the GTX260's going for $125 to $175 CAD. I have a line on a GTX285 atm for $175.

Here in Edmonton the GTX460 is going new for @$220-240CAD.

I would say your GTX275 could get $150-175.

Are you sure it's your video card? I play Alien Swarm with all high video settings and 4xAA, 4xAF at 1680x1050 on an old 9600 GSO (same as an 8800GS) and it plays very well. But my CPU is an AMD 6 core at 3.5 Ghz. I'm wondering if your dual core might be limiting you.

I doubt it is his processor. Here are his system specs from his profile. I'd reckon a good upgrade would be a 470/480 if you want to stay with nvidia, 460 would be a minor upgrade.

    Processor:
    Intel Core i7-860 @ 3.36Ghz 160x21 @ stock voltage
    CPU Cooling:
    Noctua NH-U9B SE 92mm push-pull
    Motherboard:
    EVGA P55 Micro E652
    Memory:
    Corsair XMS3 C9 DDR3-1600 2x2GB 1.65v
    Hard Drive:
    Intel X25-V 40GB SSD (02HD)
    Video Card:
    EVGA GTX 275 Superclocked

Exactly. I need a 470 to keep me up for the next 2-3 years... (and maybe hold up playing Portal 2, as new Valve games just tax the GPU more than before)

Alien Swarm at the "Elevator" level drops down to 30fps with the GPU usage at maximum. And this is even with 0x AA and 4x anisotropic.

Also, I am using 1920x1200 instead of 1680x1050.
