I was excited, until I read "dedicated servers must be rented". Please tell me that's a mistake.....

The dedicated server part is you can rent a server from a game service provider, not a peer - peer like mw2

its like the original Cod: 4

Well its obvious that MOH has nothing on this game. Seriously EA needs to go back to the drawing board or forget about MOH and concentrate on making BF3 the best battlefield game EVER!

    BF3 Dino:
    i7 2600k, ASUS P8Z68-V Pro, 8GB Corsair, X-25M 120GB, WD 300GB Raptor, 2xEVGA GTX570HD 2.5GB, X-fi Titanium, Antec 1200W.
    Monster: i7 930, MSI X58 Platinum, 9GB Corsair, WD 74GB Raptor, WD 2TB, Palit GTX460 1GB, PCP&C 750W.
    Beast: AMD4400+, Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, 2GB Corsair, 2x 1TB WD Green Raid0, 2TB WD Green, KFA2 9600GT, Dynex 500W.
    Relic: Intel P4 3.2GHz, Asus P4SD-LA, 1.5 GB PC2700, 160GB WD, 120GB Maxtor, ATI 9600Pro, Dynex 500W.

I don't think you're seeing the problem here. A lot of people don't want to have to shell out cash to rent a server. Some clans out there might want private servers to practice on and keep locked, which they could run off their own machines (like the frogs used to do with all our other games). This nonsense of forcing people to pay for dedicated servers will surely drive some competitive players away from the game.

I agree with TJ, EA should just not bother and make sure BF3 rocks

well since sp has always been the primary focus of the moh series it would only be fair to make any judgments of the game based primarily on that aspect.

EA has invested a lot of time into the MOH multiplayer.. All I said was that they should forget about it and focus on BF3. They have invested their resources to make MOH competitive with COD... they should stop because they have failed. As for the singleplayer... I don’t know anything about it nor did I mention it.
    Let me revise my statement.

"EA should focus their efforts on BF3 because trying to make MOH competitive with COD is a waste of time because judging from the video that Leroy329 posted, COD Black Ops will leave MOH multiplayer in the dust!" "Because I only saw the multiplayer for COD BO and not the singleplayer and I have only played the multiplayer beta for MOH and I have no idea what the singleplayer is like"

    ***Disclaimer***
This opinion is from a Dude named TJ and he is not an official spokesman for PcPer or its forum members. He doesn’t speak for the entire gaming community or fan boys of MOH or COD. However he unoficially speaks for all Battlefield fan boys. Battlefield fanboys are identified as the dudes still playing BC2 even though that game is a horrible worthless piece of crappy turd leaking from the butt hole of a shitty console game. ***end***

Got to side with TJ on this.

EA has got DICE doing the MP only while a completely different team in Redwood Shores is doing the SP.

I can appreciate that EA wanting to get the multiplayer right, but DICE's time could be better served somewhere else.

I don't think you're seeing the big picture here.
    Dedicated servers allow control.
    What game modes.
    What maps.
And most importantly the ability to kick/ban.
Also with dedicated servers you can stream not only to PB but to PBBans.
Competitive players will gravitate to well run clan servers knowing that they are hack free.
Knowing that if a hacker does make it in, admins will kick/ban.
You can't say that about MW2.

You can't say that about MW2.

From what it sounds like in the wiki, it seems that dedicated servers will be hosted by Activision/Treyarch, and you lease them out. Forgive if I'm wrong, but that sounds like what EA/DICE did with BC2. I would've preferred the server system in CoD4, where you can host a dedicated yourself, or rent out a dedicated from an ISP. I'm a little skeptical about it, but hopefully it's just me being paranoid or whatnot, and it actually turns out to be far better than I think it will be.
