    extreme partitioning and dual booting.

    ok i have the following HDDs;

    a 64 gig kingston ssd sata2 hdd in the mail[along with another gig of ram]
    a 320 g seagate barracuda sata hdd,
    an 80 g maxtor paralel ata hdd
    a 1.5 terabyte sata seagate barracuda

    i wanna run a dual boot system with the ssd split in half and running both operating systems so things run faster then use the 320 g for windows 7 storage and the 1.5 terabyte hdd for ubuntu storage. then keep the 80 gig to ghost one or both OSs

    does this sound like a good idea?
    or for simplicity sake, should i just run windows 7 on the ssd and ubuntu on the 80 gig?

    what order do i start installing, partitoning and what software?

    i already have ubuntu setup nicely with all the right packages to copy and burn dvds so shud i ghost/transfer my present install onto the new hdd or hope for the best with a new ubuntu install and go through all the headaches of getting the right packages installed to run frostwire and copy n burn dvds/music?

    thanks for the links eldest one those are probly exactly what i need.
    but device manager still can see my ssd drive but windows explorer cant . i dont get it.
    it like i can see something with one eye open but not the other, lol
    the bios also sees it, device manager says its working properly and up to date drivers.

    Re: extreme partitioning and dual booting.

    I have Win 7 installed on my SSD and it works great now anyways. Only issue I had was when installing Windows it wanted to put the Boot Partition on a physical drive not the SSD. I just disconnected all the other drive installed then reconnected everything back up afterwards.

    The drive is probably not partitioned yet so explorer can not see it. I read some where that you should let the Windows installer take care of that.
