for some reason an email to this person's aol account appeared in their gmail account, and then disappeared.
any idea why these two anomalies exist?

AOL installed usually takes over internet access. Email forwarding?

they never set up email forwarding apparently. the email to the aol account just sort of magically appeared in the gmail account and then disappeared.
and they're not using aol as a service provider, they're using another company. but they cannot use firefox or anything else without opening aol.Max Plank: "A new scientific truth does not

AOL is evil. When it is installed on a PC it will commandeer the network connections as it assumes you want to use AOL to access the net. Kill it, delete it and things should go back to normal.
