What GPU will be able to run Rage at 60FPS?
What GPU will be able to run Rage at 60FPS?
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest "none" at best graphics settings, if the dev team have done their jobs properly. New games usually lead hardware by at least a year. It will be at least that long, and probably longer, before you can run high res (say 1920x1200 or better) at a constant 60pfs on full graphics settings. But that's a guess based on, well, pretty much every top-end game.

That and Crysis 2 should become the next benchmark for GPUs
1920 X 1200 does sound a bit high for the most demanding games.
i thought crysis 2 was optimized and made for consoles? how can it be used as a benchmark for high end pc?
Because it's still the game that stretches current graphics hardware the most (and where you can see where all that power is going - Metro 2033 has good graphics for instance, but it's mostly too dark to see them).

These games are just a few months away. The Geforce 5xx series and Radeon 58xx series look like the two to power these titles.
While the engine is optimised for consoles, it is still first and foremost, developed for PC first. PC is still their top priority, and someone correct me if I'm mistaken, the console versions are ports of the PC version, not the other way around this time.
On a side note, GT5 and Prologue was done in CryEngine 2.
Crysis 2 minimum GPU requirements:
Nvidia 8800GT with 512MB RAM
ATI 3850HD with 512MB RAM
Getting Closer to Rage Release

Even though its only dx9 atm. Crysis 2 demo is hardly a workout for the gtx570 oc. @ max settings and 1920x1080. I see avg fps above 60 and dips only into the high 40's.
So far nothing has over taxed it.
Perhaps rage will be the one to do it in.

It sounds like Crysis 1 is more demanding than Crysis 2.
I definitely get lower fps on crysis then crysis 2.
I reinstalled the crysis 2 demo last night. And took a run @ my max oc to see how many fps i got. I saw an avg fps probably in the mid 70's And never saw the fps drop under the the very high 50's. This was @ 925/2000 on the gtx570. I usually dont run it that hard.
Its not a very demanding mp game in its current form.
Theory is that MP and Single are totally different...just like Crysis was and Crysis Wars Online.
But in general Graphics really haven't taken any leaps past 3-5 years (thank consoles for that).....Rage is no different. Didn't look very impressive from the previews I've seen.

Rage and Battlefield 3 may become the new standards to measure GPU performance.
