    Budget build soon.

I am looking to go with two systems like the budget build sometime next month. I also need a case, new DVD drives and new OS (Win7) for both computers. It looks like I can keep that under all that under 1,200 and shave a little off the HD price because we don't need anything over 300gb. We aren't even at 100gb each now.

The purpose of one computer is WoW, possible another MMO in the future and basic computing. I will be using mine for a bit more stuff like school and maybe a FPS or two.

    Based on these system requirements:

    Windows 7
Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2
2 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users)
3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 256 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600 or ATI Radeon™
2600 or better DirectX-compatible sound card or motherboard sound capability

what kind of performance can I expect with the budget build? Max settings? Medium? Also if I can come up with another $50ish for each computer where should I put that? Better video card or ram?

EDIT: How much do I have to worry about cooling with this system? Do I need any extra case fans? And anyone recommend a cheap case that would work for this setup?

    Re: Budget build soon.

First of all, what fps are you looking at? because, if you are looking at something like black ops, then you are not going to be able to get by with the video card you have picked out.

here is the build i would go
    Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103903

    $60

    Motherboard:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138179

    $60

    Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-870-_-Product

    $80

    Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231395

    2x- $45

    Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147073

    $25

    Power supply:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171046

    $30

    HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148469

    $50

    Win 7- $100
    You can find it

All together, that looks an awful lot like 450 a piece, and that should run pretty much anything you throw at it, besides brand new games that are built to ruin your computer. this will totally be able to play WOW at okay, maybe even high settings, and it will run oldish games just fine.

you are in charge of making sure that everything is compatible, but i am pretty sure it is.
    Steven

Edit: DVD drives should be about 30 apiece, and so with shipping, that takes it to about 500 each.
    Absolutely hopeless hardware geek.
This is more fun than any human should be allowed to have!!!
