    5970+5870 Tri-Fire vs. GTX 580 SLI?

Which one owns games more? And, how well does a 5970 and 5870 tri-fire and scale? What kind of performance would i notice in games like metro 2033 and crysis? FPS? Its just, in a few months, i either want to upgrade to A) GTX 580 in SLI. B) 2x 6970 in crossfire "depending on benchmarks". C) 5970 + 5870 trifire......

*OFF TOPIC*- Do you think the GTX 580 will still reign supreme after the release of the 6970, or do you think the 6970 will surpass the 580?

When you talk about "king of the hill" there is normally only a small percentage in the difference between comparable cards.

A few FPS one way or the other does not make much difference.

Until some new games come out all of the older cards still handle them just fine.

SLI and Crossfire with the newest cards is more bragging rights than performance gains.

Unless you have a monitor that supports 2560x1600 there is not much point.
    Asus M8Z77-V Deluxe
    Intel 3770K
    G-Skill 1600 16G
    Corsair H100
    EVGA 670 GTX
    2 Corsair Force 3 120G (Raid 0)
    2 x Seagate 1T 6G
    2 Samsung SyncMaster T260HD Monitors
    Thermaltake Level 10 UGK
    Silverstone Olympia OP1000 1000W
    Windows 8

Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
