In the Unites States believing that church attendance should be optional and supporting public education makes you a liberal socialist nazi.

In the United Kindgom believing that corporations are legally allowed to make a profit and that people are legally allowed to attend a church makes you an anarcho-capitalist neo con.

In Europe, if you're an American, you like the stupid "football", NASCAR, monster trucks, guns, cowboy hats, the death penalty and you don't know anything about history, world affairs, or how it "really is".

^^^ Except in December and January, when the NASCAR guys are building their new cars behind closed doors.

The worst of times are between the Super Bowl and Daytona.

That's when we catch up on re-runs of The Three Stooges and buy chocolates for our women.

I don't really care for any of those things, but I do enjoy history so I guess I'm pretty un American.

To be fair I think that is a very accurate assessment of the majority of people in this country.

We care more about sports, hollywood and other nonsense more so than we do about history and politics.

And I even know quite a few people who are very open and proud of that fact.

Whatever do you participate on this forum for? Some kind of pitiful attempt at hurling insults, framed in ignorance. Attempting to project an air of pseudo superiority - that comes across more as simple, unrefined arrogance.

I doubt anyone here is in the least bit interested in any of your ideas, let alone comments.

The thing about history and politics is they’re both rewritten, homogenized and agenized in each new news cycle. Factual real history has no place in today’s world of political correctness, dumb down and indoctrination. There’s often very little resemblance to what really happened.

It's amazing how only a few people get that. History is what happened. Spin is filling in the why according to your agenda.

Example: History teaches that only scumbags cut spending. It shows that they don't give a schitt about anybody but themselves and don't want to help hurting people. History has proved that over and over again.

A multi-million dollar school bond issue in our county failed by two freakin' votes.

    Glad we voted.

    There's going to be a re-count.

some have said certain losing republican candidates should just have kept their mouths shut. maybe that thought should be carried forward.

Poll: More negative view of GOP, Romney post-election

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll conducted one month after Election Day and released Wednesday indicates the GOP's favorable rating slipping with 30% percent of respondents viewing the party favorably, down from 36% before the election. Forty-five percent now view the party unfavorably, up from 43% before the election. Before the election, Romney's favorable rating was at 43%. The number has since dropped to 35%. His unfavorable rating has remained at 44% from before November 6.
