The funny part is, Obama is a 1%'er too, but we all know the free pass the press will give him on that issue.

Well, exactly. I saw some ObamaBot somewhere saying "Why would we want Romney in the White House, he's a member of the 1%?" I was just shocked that that numskull doesn't know Obama is a member of the dreaded upper class either. Even if you didn't know (and Obama's tax returns are all public) he makes millions from his book sales, then you should at least have taken a high school civics class where they teach you the President's salary is $300k and change. Pretty sure that $300k puts you solidly in the 1%.

Now, when he eventually collapsed, we'll be stuck with Romney in the general election who has permanently been damaged by Gingrich's insinuations.

He does a pretty good job of damaging himself saying such things as he supports the NDAA.

There really is no difference between him and Obama, Romney will lose by default.

I'll concede that Romney isn't the reformer we need, but he'd probably be a good stopgap president until we can get a real reformer in 2016/2020 (Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, maybe even Rand Paul). He would repeal ObamaCare, probably leave tax rates at their current levels, probably reign in government spending. Good enough for me for now.

Speaking of Obamabots. I saw another one tonight while driving. This guy had all sorts of pro-BO propaganda plastered all over the back of his bumper, including a sticker I'd not seen before that was in the usual Democrat/Obama colors and had windmills on the left side of it. I couldn't read what it said as it was dark out but I'm sure it was telling everyone how the Democrats will make sure windmills power the whole country and oil is the Devil, etc. That apparently still wasn't good enough for this guy though, as he STILL had the "Hope" Obama profile on the side window of his car.

Seriously guy, you're a grown nerd worshiping a politician. Not even a good one either! Look, I like Ron Paul. I still think he's the best choice by far out of what there is out there right now. BUT, I won't ever plaster my car with stickers stating he's the second coming or have some bizarre profile of him with the word "Hope" in front of it. That stuff is just weird to me.



On the opposite end of the spectrum there are my in-laws. Um, what can I say except that they definitely do NOT like Obama and everyone that comes within 100 feet of their cars know it. They STILL have the "Keep the change" stickers with Palin (Palin for God's sake!) all over their cars. There are also stickers with BO's head on them asking if this ass makes my car look big, etc. What annoys me the most though is they have a TEA party sticker and I know for a fact they've never gone to any TEA party events or donated a dime to them.

Now I happen to think some of the anti-BO stickers they have are funny, but once again, there's no way I'm plastering that stuff all over my car to make it look like the kook-mobile. I can see a sticker or two on a car to let everyone else know who you support, but I just don't get the people who feel like they shouldn't have any paint or glass showing on their cars. I don't know, it's just weird to me and I felt like venting I guess.

Still toying with the idea of framing the TP as a fad for the upcoming election? Hey.. how's that Occupy "movement" your party is behind holding up? I have not checked the police blotter in a few days.

I have one bumper sticker on my truck, from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, my alma matter. I agree that people with 9 million bumper stickers look stupid. There is this old VW van that I used to pass every day on the freeway outside Milwaukee that had bible quotes painted all over it. The guy driving it had a jesus beard. Talk about nuts.

I think they thought that capturing the 60 seats in the House and 2 seats in the Senate was victory enough.

They better wake up and get out to vote this November. I partly blame the Tea Party for the rise of Newt Gingrich, though. I think a lot of Tea Partiers are people who were non-political before 2008 and don't know of Gingrich's past exploits. Secondly, Gingrich has all his snappy one-liners and is constantly beating up on Obama in the debates, and I think the TP likes people who stick it to Obama.

Being a democrat and watching the occupy movement probably feels a lot like being a republican and watching these debates - in no way shape or form can I support these people wholeheartedly, but I guess I have to deal with the fact that they are going to represent my party for awhile, and the alternative is not really a viable option.

I'm not seeing where I compared the two... I simply asked how it was going with the kooks on your side of the fence. As far as the RP thread goes.. don't fret too much. We'll all be holding hands singing kumbyah when it comes to voting against the SCOAMF.

Im not sure I could bring myself to vote for someone with posistions such as Romney. His support of the NDAA was the final nail in his coffin for me.
There are other republicans I would vote for. But none of them are in the race.

I hear ya but surely not Obama. I will hold my nose and vote for Romney if he is the candidate, same as I did with McCain. The last time I really WANTED to vote for a candidate was GWB (the first time around, not the second).

I voted for McCain last time as well. I don't think ill be able to take the lesser of two evils anymore. Our country is on a path to self destruction. I worry much more about internal threats then i do outside threats. I see bad things coming in the near future.
