It's a non-issue. Barack Obama admitted to using and dealing marijuana and cocaine in his book when he was in high school and everybody just marks that one up to "boys being boys". So, can we mark Mitt putting the family pooch on the roof as "dads being dads"? It's totally something my dad would of done back in the day.

How could a "strategist" say something as stupid as this. She has added to Ann Romney's popularity I'm sure with this dumb attack. I'm sure it was an effort to paint her as a rich guy's wife but all it did was make her a victim of a poor attack attempt.

Then Barack Obama says something equally stupid about he didn't have the luxury of allowing Michele to stay at home. What? He has a law degree from Harvard. He can't go earn enough to let his wife stay at home? Right. More like a lame attempt at trying to paint himself as just a poor working stiff.

Ann Romney was a stay-at-home mom, but she also has multiple sclerosis. Maybe her medical condition had something to do with it, I really don't think it's anybody's place to judge.

As for Michelle, she has a Harvard law degree and worked for Valerie Jarrett in Chicago. Obama is making stuff up if he's pretending that Michelle had to go out and work three jobs to put food on the table.

We're supposed to feel bad for a constitutional law professor and his lawyer wife? Really, the blight of poor Barry and Michelle Obama is really tugging on my heart strings. I wish they'd cut the "oh, we're poor, just like you" act.

Today Obama said that the Buffet Rule should be called the "Reagan Rule".

His reasoning being "Ronald Reagan did the same thing!"

(BTW, this is the same argument we hear from the lefties about the insurance mandate for ObamaCare. I'm sure the "hey, republicans did this 20 years ago!" is some David Axelrod idea)

Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal was on Fox Business Network today, he said (channeling Lloyd Bentsen), "Mr. President, I worked for President Reagan, I knew President Reagan, you're no President Reagan." Which, I loved. Anyway, Moore went on to say that he when was an economist for the Reagan administration, they cut out corporate and upper class tax loopholes, but they pushed for lowering the overall tax rate, while Obama wants to raise it.

So Obama is taking the weakest link to a past Republican idea he can, and trying to say that Republicans should support it because now it's somehow a Republican idea.

    Re: The 2012 Election Thread

Obama put this idiotic "Buffett Rule calculator" on his campaign website.

    http://www.barackobama.com/buffett-rule/

Put your income in there, and see what your tax rate is, and see what Mitt Romney's is!

Hilariously, if you put in any income that's not the middle class (extremely low, extremely high), it says "Well, you're a special case. Let's compare a family of two's $42,000 income versus Mitt Romney's."

God, how stupid. This is class warfare crap. Obama is playing on people's class envy. Let's forget for a moment that the top income brackets have a way heavier tax burden than the rest of us, even if their tax rates are lower. This whole thing is stupid.

I had hoped for one time that there would be a 0% capital gains tax in this country. I think taxing capital gains and dividends is double taxation, but, considering this worthless Buffet Rule is basically aimed directly at rich people who only make investment income, I guess it isn't going away anytime soon.

Yeah she was diagnosed with MS in 1998 when her youngest son was 17. Make your own judgments, I guess. Here's mine: The Romney's have NEVER had to live within a budget the way most of America does. They've never had to worry about health care because they switched jobs. That was the point that the CNN commentator was trying to make, which she obviously fumbled. The Romney's were handed their life by Mitt's daddy. The Obama's earned theirs.

Except it wasn't because she made the same claim several times before the obligatory "bammabackpedalin'" you are dutifully repeating started. I gotta say, it's fun as hell to watch your messiah step in it again. First they send this twit out with their new "distraction" attempt. Then less than 24 hours later the SCOAMF himself is condemning the very distraction his campaign and Rosen probably cobbled together in her 35 WH visits.

The Bamma implosion I predicted is starting earlier than I even thought. I can hardly wait to see what team "0" tries next xcuz they sure as h3ll ain't running on his long list of accomplishments.

    Re: The 2012 Election Thread

^^^I have to admit I enjoy reading your interpretation of "stepping in it."

To me "stepping in it" would be to have a conference call with reporters to refute that you have a problem with women and then not know whether or not you support the Lily Ledbetter Act. Or to send out two congresswomen to stump for your support of said act who didn't even vote for it themselves. Or, say, to have the Party leader in the senate say "no problem here...ask the female republican senators what they think" only to have the female republican senators completely contradict him.

Maybe I have higher standards for "stepping in it" than a commentator who is in no way affiliated with the Obama campaign saying something stupid. Perhaps Mitt Romney should be answering for what Allen West is saying about communists in the CPC

So he pimps the Lily Ledbetter Act while deliberately and systematically underpaying his female employees 18%.

Women Made 18% Less Than Men In Obama White House In 2011

Yup.. that's not stepping in it... that's "shrewd".

Hillary Rosen is "not affiliated" with the WH. 35 visits is more trips to the WH than General Petraeus has made.

Here’s who Democrat hitwoman Hilary Rosen visited at the White House, including at least 5 POTUS meetings

White House visitor logs show that Hilary Rosen, the DC lobbyist/Anita Dunn colleague who attacked Ann Romney’s stay-at-home-mom status on CNN last night, visited 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. at least 35 times.
(Remember: White House logs are an inaccurate measure of ACTUAL White House visits, as liberal media outlets/watchdogs themselves have reported and as I’ve reminded you many times.)

    . . .
    Hillary who??

    Nope.. no connection there.

Rosen in 2008: Attacks on Michelle Obama 'stupid'

    . . .
"You know essentially, you've taken on sort of the most sympathetic person in the candidate's realm, the wife, who is taking care of the children, supporting the husband, doing everything she can because she loves him," Rosen said on Anderson Cooper 360 according to a CNN transcript from May 19, 2008.

"Michelle Obama is a pretty terrific woman I have to say, and I think that attacking her is a dumb strategy on the Republican's part," Rosen added.. .
What are attacks on Ann Romney in 2012 BD? Well I think you've figured that much out.

War on women. Team "0" did not start that bit...

    Hilary Rosen’s Spin

    . . .
    From Nancy Pelosi:

    Jonah –

We’re close to an incredible milestone in our campaign to stop endless Republican extremism.

As of this moment, we are just 121 donations short of the most contributions we’ve ever had on a single day.

Only a few short hours remain before the midnight Federal Election Commission deadline. Will you put us over the top?

Contribute $3 before midnight and we’ll triple-match your gift >>

Together, we’ll put an end to the Republicans’ unrelenting war on women, seniors, and the middle class.

    Thank you,

    Nancy
    From James Carville:

The GOP’s contraception hearing was a top secret treehouse: No Girls Allowed. They’ve branded birth control pills a weapon of mass destruction. Their idea of a health care system is a Band-Aid and a bottle of aspirin. I laugh to keep from throwing stuff. These guys are dangerous. They will do anything to win – whether it’s waging war on women or imploding our economy. They’ve released the right-wing hounds on President Obama and our Democratic Senate. We have a whopping 23 seats to defend. They only need to win 4.
    From Donna Brazille:

The right wing will do anything to destroy President Obama – including waging war on women’s health rights and burning the entire economy to the ground. It’s time to pull the fire alarm.
    And so on.
    Except they did... oops.

Oh.. and Ann is outta touch? Never had to budget? The facts say otherwise:

Rush reads 1994 Ann Romney interview which obliterates left’s “out of touch” narrative

Rush reads from an interview that Ann Romney gave 18 years ago to the Boston Globe that sheds light on time when they didn’t have much money, even to carpet the floor. And the beautiful thing about this is that it shatters the narrative that the Left is trying to paint, that the Romneys have always had a silver spoon in their mouth and thus they are so out of touch they can’t relate to the women who struggle to get by.

    . . .
Let's contrast that to Bamma's bitter halfs "struggles":

Ann Romney Hasn’t Had It Tough Like Michelle Obama

Pro-Obama flack Hilary Rosen doesn’t think Ann Romney knows squat about economics, because she’s one of those stay-at home moms:

What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, “Well, my wife tells me what women really care about are economic issues.” And, “When I listen to my wife, that’s what I’m hearing.” Guess what? His wife has never actually worked a day in her life. She’s never really dealt with the economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing—in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and how do—why we worry about their future.
Dana Loesch (and many others) properly focus on the insult to stay-at-home parents implicit in this statement — but I want to focus on the the other message: Ann Romney doesn’t understand the travails of working families.

Like Michelle Obama does, you mean?

Michelle Obama knows the hard scrabble life of earning over $300,000 a year to be a hospital administrator at a hospital that was trying to get earmarks from her husband, the U.S. Senator:

Join President Obama in fighting earmarks! He has fought them ever since, well, never. This is a guy who sought millions and millions in earmarks when he was a Senator — including, famously, “a request for $1 million in federal funding in 2006 for a new pavilion at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where his wife, Michelle Obama, was a vice president at the time.”

Oddly enough, “Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office.” Almost as if the administrators had an inkling that having her there might help them cash in!

It didn’t work, by the way, despite Barry’s best efforts. The earmark didn’t go through, and her salary was promptly reduced back to $273,618.
In February 2008, Byron York related the difficulties Michelle faced in getting by:

Michelle Obama is sitting with a group of six women around a table in the basement playroom of the Zanesville Day Nursery, here in economically troubled central Ohio. . . . . “It’s a constant sense of guilt,” Obama, dressed simply in a blue sweater with a triple strand of pearls, tells the women of her own dilemma as a working mother.

    . . . .

“I know we’re spending — I added it up for the first time — we spend between the two kids, on extracurriculars outside the classroom, we’re spending about $10,000 a year on piano and dance and sports supplements and so on and so forth,” Mrs. Obama tells the women. “And summer programs. That’s the other huge cost. Barack is saying, ‘Whyyyyyy are we spending that?’ And I’m saying, ‘Do you know what summer camp costs?’”

With all those concerns, one might wonder whether the women should be comforting Mrs. Obama, but she assures them that she’s really O.K. “We don’t complain because we’ve got resources because of our education. We’ve got family structure,” she says. “So I tell people don’t cry for me.”
    Don’t cry for me, Argentina.

So you see, if you want a woman who’s been out there fighting the tough economic fight, vote for Barack Obama. Maybe the next time Michelle complains about how tough she had it, she’ll have a quadruple strand of pearls instead of a mere triple.
Poor Michelle... be sure to shed a tear BD. So ya.. Team "0" stepped in it and continues to do so with every attempt to distract from his abysmal record. I can hardly wait to see how he dorks up the next distraction attempt..
