I just think they took the story off course. Didn't really add any steps, the dead came back no matter how they died in the comic too. It was just more mysterious as to why. I just see it as a sign of things to come. They're going to get too focused on the wrong stuff and dilute the story into something boring and over done. They have a lot of good material to work from, they don't need to add fluff to appease the masses.

^^^ Heh. I did not even know where the original story line came from. So it was a comic first eh? Personally I'm not looking forward to the "prison" much. Every time they stop and camp so does the action and it tends to get farrr too dramatic IMHO. But I still like the series.

Anyone who has read the comic is sure to be excited about the prison, I'll leave it at that.

The prison story arc should be much better than the farm (which was drug out way too long)

Exactly my thoughts too Scoot. Although, I watch this show with my wife and 14 year old daughter. They didn't think the almost season long soap opera this last season on the farm turned into was bad at all. They couldn't understand why I wanted more action. I told them that it was a show who's main premise is zombies, but has turned into Days of Our Lives in some episodes.

The main premise is actually the characters and how they cope with the end of the world. The zombies are just a highly entertaining backdrop. The show/comic is more about character development and poking and prodding at those characters to find their breaking points.

Not every episode can be a zombie killing fest, that would get very old very fast. Instead they let you get to know the characters, see what makes them tick, learn to love or hate them, and then out of no where they rip them to shreds.

I'm a huge zombie fan and a huge fan of the comic, and I think as far as character development goes, they're doing a fine job on the show. I don't agree with the road they've taken some of the characters down, but hey, they can't just copy the comic note for note.

The comic is extremely harsh when it comes to killing off characters you get emotionally invested in. You can't get that investment without some good old fashioned drama though. If you're strictly into kill counts, the walking dead might not be the show for you.

I know what you're saying Sub, but I still think the farm part was too drawn out. Hopefully, like you say, the prison will be different. It would only make sense that it would, as we all know everything about the current characters there is to know.

It was drawn out, I agree, I figured we'd be at the prison by now. Now that dale is dead, andrea will never get to bang him, so there goes that whole story arc. I think they should have let it happen, old farts need love too! Besides dales death in the comic (much further down the road) was much more emotional for it, and andrea didn't seem so heartless either.

If anybody here used to read PC Gamer magazine, former editor-in-chief of that magazine Gary Whitta wrote the script for The Walking Dead game. He also wrote the script for the first Gears of War game and the game Prey. Also, he wrote the movie Book of Eli with Denzel Washington.

Is this another one of those situations where they want more money so they're threatening to just stop carrying the channel?

No, they're not trying to increase the price.

Dish announced in May that it would not renew its contract with AMC Networks because the four channels under that umbrella (AMC, WE, IFC and Sundance) had “very limited popular programming.” AMC says Dish is retaliating because of an unrelated legal dispute between the two companies.

AMC said in a statement: "It is unfortunate that, in retaliation for an unrelated lawsuit, Dish is punishing its customers by threatening to drop the AMC Networks, and with this sudden, dramatic change in channel position, making it extremely difficult for their customers to find and watch some of the most popular and acclaimed shows on television."
