    Re: "Enhanced pat downs?

Personally I'd be quite happy to know that everyone flying with me has been frisked.

The only reason they were able to hijack the planes on 9/11 was due to slack security born of complacency and resistance by airlines and the public to proper security.

You ever been to an emergency room where they check everybody with a metal detecting wand or one of those metal detecting goodies you walk through?

I failed so I got the old gropping pat down...

Somebody told me they are supposed to, by the letter of the new TSA regulations, check under your genitals. A guy told me on Twitter that he got frisked by the TSA and the agent did indeed, feel under his package.

Obama needs to step up and address this.

"You're blaming Obama for this? You Republicans would blame Obama for everything wah wah wah."

    Yes, I am.

The TSA/Homeland Security culture of fear may have started under Bush/Ridge/Chertoff. But these new "enhanced pat downs" started under the ambiguously gay regime of Janet Napolitano.

Obama is Napolitano's boss, after all. He could stop these pat downs where TSA agents are grabbing up little 6-year-old girls with a single phone call.

Obama likes to be folksy and pretend he's an everyman, after all. ("I filled out my NCAA bracket on ESPN! Heh heh heh! I use an iPad! Heh heh heh!") He could go on TV and say he's asking the TSA to reconsider their policies because people don't like them.

So yes, I blame Obama for allowing this to continue.

As much as I dislike Obama. The blame is on many other people as well. Especially our representatives in congress.

But tbh in the end the the fault is on we the people. We allow this kind of stuff to happen. If just 20% of the population stood up and said enough is enough it would all change.

I don't fly anymore unless I can't avoid it. Anywhere less than 14 hours by car and I'm driving.

I hear ya and agree 100%. I'd add that adding extra hours for good scenery and a nice ride can boost it beyond 14 hours.

America is a great country for driving, lots of highways and diversity. But I got to admit, for business trips, I'm still hopin' on a Boeing. Even if it means getting getting a happy ending from a TSA agent.

    For f***s sake.

The TSA threatened to cancel all flights out of Texas if the state legislature passed the anti-patdown law. So the Texas House of Representatives dropped the bill.

    Um, state's rights, anybody?

Unchecked powered by the federal government?

Obama is asleep at the wheel on this. He could end this patdown shit with a phone call to Janet Napolitano. Obama can put on his hocky everyman voice and say "I hear on CNN that you folks on there don't like those TSA agents grabbing you at the airport. (audience laugh) Well, security is important, but some folks think they're going too far (few scattered claps and cheers), so I called uh, Secretary Napolitano and asked her to review the TSA's patdown policy. (audience cheer)"

See. I can be a speechwriter. Hey, Obama, Clinton had D!ck Morris. Get me in the White House so I can be the devil on your other shoulder, like Morris was in the Clinton White House.

Oh, and think those TSA patdowns do any good?

This guy got onto a plane with a butane torch and metal cylinder.

I don't fly because I had enough in the service. I don't ride a train,
but would like to. This I promise to myself though if I ever DO go
for transportation that req's a so called pat down. The night before
I'M eat the hottest stinkin' chili & mustard I can find. I'll make sure
it has plenty of sharp cheddar cheese in it as well, then add a couple
cups of Peets Major Dickason's Blend in the morn right before the
search..If I'm gonna pay.... so are they !

And as far as BO goes..he goes with the chili. I HATE to say this
about the leader of a country that is as powerful as ours and I
couldn't do his job, but I just don't care for the guy. I've tried
to give him some props, but he reminds me a guy who should be
selling cars down at Cal Worthington's..

For those not of SoCal, this might be a lil hard to figure..

A 95-year-old wheelchair-bound elderly woman with stage 4 leukemia who was traveling home to be with her family in her final days was asked to remove her adult diaper during her TSA patdown.

    Can't make this stuff up.

The best thing to do is dress like an Arab and wear an OBL latex mask.

You’ll go through security completely unnoticed…
