    Hi all mem !
    I am newbie .
I have some questions : I trying convert mode IDE to mode AHCI unsuccessful
    Info : OS Win 7 64 bit

    I trying :

Step 1 : I setup new install win 7 . In BIOS I config mode IDE to mode AHCI
Setup new win...the screen select new partion for install OS. message : " windows canot be installed to this disk. This computers harware may not. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu "
though I had install sata driver load by USB in during process " Load Driver " in Screen Install ( source driver sata from VD rom main P7P55D make disk for USB )
    I cacel.

Step 2 : In BIOS . I config default . New install OS by mode IDE. This is OK.
    I trying :

To resolve this issue yourself, enable the AHCI driver in the registry before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive. To do this, follow these steps:
    Exit all Windows-based programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
Locate and then click one of the following registry subkeys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV
In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

install intel rst drivers on your current install, reboot, then reboot again and go into the bios and switch to ahci, then boot into windows and give it some time to reinstall drivers.

no need to format and reinstall windows.
