Easy, sometimes you want quick access to more then 8 options. ( Real handy for switching between scrolls mid fight)

    Re: TES V: Skyrim

One thing I don't like about Skyrim is something that I didn't like with Oblivion either and was hoping they would fix. Why is it that I can steal a bunch of jewelry from a closed street vendor right as a guard walks by and not hear a peep from him but if I'm in a house with the door closed and I take a goblet the next thing I hear in a strange Ahnold type voice is "You've committed crimes against the people of Skyrim blah, blah, blah....".

This really bugs me. As a thief skulking around inside a house with no windows facing the front, when no one is even home, a guard just shows up out of nowhere. I mean, I can go in the house without a guard anywhere in site but as SOON as a I take even a single coin he appears out of nowhere! Even more funny is the 5 gold fine I have to pay. This fine seems to be completely random and I've been charged the same for taking a plate from a house or murdering someone in the street.

Lol, I'm the head of something called the Dark Brotherhood, I have a torture chamber complete with 4 victims back at my lair, I've killed brides on their wedding day, in front of everyone no less, killed emperors, and countless others. So yeah, I'll pay the 5 gold and be on my way!

I used to be an assassin like you, then I took an arrow to the knee.

I have no idea what you are doing wrong, but I've robbed all over the place, even with people in the same room, but never had that happen.

That's just it though, it doesn't happen all the time. I also have robbed with people in the same room and even other guards and they haven't noticed. Other times I'm in a house alone, take a coin off a table and a guard barges through the door to arrest me on the spot.

So I love Fallout and Oblivion and I want to get Skyrim, but I need to finish Resident Evil IV (gamecube of course) before it consumes my life.

    Even so,

So I just got into the Diablo III beta... so torn between BF3, Skyrim and D3!

Console-itis. They made the "favorites" menu for consoles, then added hotkeys later for the PC version, I bet.

As best I can tell from reading up, the interface stuff was amongst the first stuff designed (certainly the perks screen was) and was design-led. That is, it was made to look pretty, not be any use. I wonder if Apple were involved?

OK, I know these people are the hard-living, hard-drinking Nords, but do they ever sleep? I'm doing the Thieves Guild quests and half the time it's easier to hit the places during the day! I've broken into one shop at 5am and the owner's young son is still up and about (randomly moving from chair to chair). I've also had one shop keeper knock off mid afternoon and have a nap mind you.
