Should I be worried someone tried hacking my account?

I got an email stating that my account was locked because someone tried more than 5 times to login into my account. So yay for my password?

you should have gotten an email notifying you of the attempt. in the email will contain an ip address that was recorded as the source of the attempt. can you provide that ip address for us?

"The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 173.193.221.28"

    Thank-you.

We've currently banned that IP along with a few dozen others today as we've started to get several reports like this. We are still going though our server logs to see what else we can do about today's attack.

The best thing for you to do is to ensure that you've got a strong password that you do not use anywhere else. I have the suspicion that this attack has to do with a database that was recently stolen from Gawker. The attacker is probably using statistical data from this database to guess user's passwords on several forums, one of which is ours.
