    Re: Diablo III

I understand if something is a glitch or it's game breaking but seriously trying to change every tiny little thing and pigeonholing us into specific builds with specific gear is not fun and is not diversity.
If you've read what was changed it was specifically because of game breaking mechanics that narrowed the game down to specific builds and didn't allow for diversity. ( Uncapped life gain on certain abilities for example.)

They nerf abilities that people use to progress so that the game is again less skill dependent and more gear dependent.

I think the whole of the game design is completely fubar for diversity. The only reason blizzard cares if something is imbalanced is because they see a loss of profit from people who didn't need to buy items off the RMAH. It's all a microtransaction game.

Why else nerf MF on chests and reduce gold dropped from breakables and mobs and then on top of that raise repair costs? Sure they have some sound reasons for doing this stuff. Problem is that it's hurting the average casual players and even more dedicated players a lot more. I wonder why most of the changes they have done have hurt more of the legit players more than the botters and glitchers in game?

Why do you think they gave away a $60 game to people who paid $100 for a wow sub. Why take a 60% loss on something unless you feel that you are going to recuperate it later on?

*edit* What I mean by pigeonholing us into certain builds is simply that those of us who frankly don't want to spend money on the RMAH have to make up for the lack of gear by building our skillset in a certain way. If I spent $250 on the RMAH I wouldn't have to care what skills I had. That's what Blizz wants. In the end, unless someone puts that money into paypal which they still get a big cut of it anyways, RMAH funds end up back in blizzards hands.

gotta find some good stuff so I can sell it on RMAH to recoop some money so that I can buy BF3 expansion

So far I've been able to sell 4 items on the AH for some gold. But nothing yet on the RMAH.

yea, but they had their chance to learn from their mistakes. It might have taken them a few patches to bring in runes, but when they saw how much effort people went into crafting runewords, the enthusiasm and the ecosystem, they should have tried to re-create that. In D2 there was still stuff for high-level chars to do because things like the Pandemonium quest (torch run) were insanely difficult, but the payoffs were good. its like they're deliberately withholding good gear in order to drive up its value in the auction houses. This obsession with securing a continuous revenue stream has clearly gimped the game, at least in the short term. Its obvious that they can address game balance issues by drastically altering the way the in-game economy works, but if nobody is still playing when they finally fix the problems, then whats the point?

92 hours in and reached level 60 tonight. Going to finish the game on Hell and then let it sit for a few months. Pick it up again in the winter with a new character.

Should they copy Diablo 2 gameplay with an expansion? Wide open plains and deep dungeons all over the place with PVP. Could quiet the trolls complaining it's not like Diablo 2.

I gave up playing this game months ago. With every patch they nerf something, or introduce a new bug to the game, and have also made the end boss so hard even on easy mode, you literally can't finish the game on single player. What's worse the famous launcher bug, where the launcher will reach a certain point in game loading will crash, still hasn't been fixed.

Most of my time was spent trying to fix things that Blizzard should have had fixed from the start. I play Torchlight 2, which I think is a far better game even though it only costs $20.00 on Steam.
