"Tora! Tora! Tora!" , first time I've seen it since the early 80's, great movie, alot better now than when I was a kid in my early teens. The movie looked good on blu, btw.

Blargh. I watched this awhile back. Something was wrong with it. Just never fired me up. The cinematics for the fight scene at the very end (the "sky fight") was the best 20 seconds of the movie though!

Watched Prometheus last night.

Pretty good scifi flick and all scifi fans will enjoy it for sure and yet... :

It is still 'just' a remake of Alien (both at the moment at least have exactly the same score on IMDB btw) and excellent effects aside (which are really a given these days anyway): the character development was simply put often... bad, not often supporting the script enough, which IMHO led to some obvious gaps and naiveties in the plot. I suppose a LOT of material was left out of the film and the producers are simply waiting a 2nd payday when they release a' director's cut' or whatever later.

Does it feel like an Alien movie? I ask because it was originally supposed to a prequel but then during development became less of a prequel and more a separate story line in the Aliens universe which happens to predate the original Alien movie.

remake of 3:10 to Yuma. It was actually very good remake, I'm not sure if I like the original or remake better.

It's a yes and no.

I don't think it has the suspense or horror element of the first Alien movies and yet... it still has a familiar feel to it and lots of the imagery is very familiar. The world is presented a lot brighter (definitely not only, but very much so in the 'physical' sense of the word) in Prometheus - all the scenes in Alien movies are basically dark (might have had something to do with the fact that that way it is easier to deal with creating the special effects, who knows...).
Noomi Rapace is definitely no Sigourney Weaver either... missing the macho element, which is probably a good thing though since if she were simply a 'Ripley-rip off' Prometheus would be too close to the original Alien.

Its the family's favorite series here! Kinda like a living RPG.

Season 2 is just about as good. It has a few GREAT episodes in it, especially Ep. #9
