A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010 Reboot)

An ok movie. It didnt tease like the first one, instead it was dirty and grimy - which felt layered on, instead of "making" it dirty and grimy.

Meh. Third time watching it. I think I see what they were trying for, but with out the comedic timing of Englund, its /just/ a crime drama with a casper twist.

    2/5 Stars.

    Watchmen (2009 film)

FINALLY. Uncut on POV. Im not sure where my DVD went for this movie, but I have been bugging my wife to watch it with me for a longwhile.

Great movie. A "humanized" version of any number of Xmen type storyline. It is on the long side of things, but still one of my favorite movies.

    4/5 Stars.

Re: What movie are u watching tonight?

    I watched a few.

The Grey - Good movie. Great performance from Liam Neelson. I love artsy, angsty endings that leave something to the imagination, but even this movie's is too abrupt for me. (4/5)

Chronicle - I love "found footage" movies and this one is pretty good. Because the main characters are kids, I expected it to be a childish testosterone-filled romp with beer and boobs jokes, but it was surprisingly clever sci-fi thriller with some good characterization. (4/5)

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - The first Mission: Impossible was a borderline "serious" spy movie. Since then, this serious has gone to hell. The second one was goddamn awful, seemed like a fan fiction story from the first movie. The third one was okay with a generic and stupid plot but the attempts to tug on our heartstrings was bad. Ghost Protocol is the best one since the first movie, with a simple enough plot, some great characters, cool stunts, cool setpieces. Some of the gadgets are borderline stupid, but overall, it's a fun roller coaster ride that doesn't try to lean on your emotions like #3 did. (5/5)

Re: What movie are u watching tonight?

Watched the first 3/4 of Moneyball last night. I had seen the last 1/3 or so of it on some movie channel and then got the BD on netflix. I hadn't planned on actually watching it last night but I popped the BD in my PC and it just started playing and I got sucked in immediately. Before I knew it, it was midnight and my planned bed time was shot to hell... ugh

real good movie though. Kind of sucks to know the ending from real life :\
btw: Paul DePodesta (peter brandt is a composite character mostly based on him) is working for the Mets now.. I wonder if this means we can expect a fairy-tale season that ends in the first round of the playoffs

I don't think it was god anyway. Some alien masquerading as god trying to fool the others.
