Inherited my dad's old White's Coinmaster 6000/D Series 2 recently. don't worry, he's still among us, just hasn't gone detecting since his brother died years ago.
I haven't gotten it running yet, needs battery packs as the ones it came with were no good after the batteries corroded in it.
excited to get it fired up eventually and check out the back yard for some spare change.
some of my fondest memories were going through all the old junk and coins my dad and uncle would find. my uncle had a basement full of his treasures. buckets and buckets of stuff, some of it sorted.
they were pretty big into it, researching old battlefields, and knocking on doors of old looking houses to see if they'd let them hunt.
this thing is really old school, i've researched it a bit and from the sounds of it it's really a good unit even by today's standards.
so anyone else getting their hunt on?

And my rechargeable pack had corroded also so I just use the optional "AA" battery pack.
