    Corsair H50 fans

Hey guys, I need some suggestions about running 2 fans on the H50 such as what PWM fans to use and if I can use a "Y" cable from 1 motherboard header. I really want nice quiet fans that perform well in the CFM area.
    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Corsair H50 fans

    I'm using the Noctua 120mm :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-004-_-Product
I run them at full speed, nice & quiet moves good amount of air. They also come with voltage chokes to lower the rpm if you find them to be too loud.
My experiences with Y connectors, I've used 3 in the past & always one fan would fail after a short time (2-3mos). Not the fan that would fail, but the Y connector itself.

    What failed with the cable?

Well, I use my H-50 with a good overclock of my i7-860

I have a Delta 150 cfm, high speed pwm fan attached to it.

Made a custom temp/Speed% curve for the fan to run off of, and for the most part it runs low and quiet. if im gaming or folding with high loads and high temps, it runs like a jet engine and moves quite a bit of air. only need one of them.

Before I was using a Scythe Ultra Kaze, but I hated manually adjusting the speed depending on what I was doing to keep the cpu cool.

I'm not sure, they just stopped working. I thought maybe a short but I could not get any power no matter how much I played around with them. Maybe I just got some from a defective lot.

With H50s the CFM of the fan is not as important as the air pressure of the fan.

Mine works great. I paid a bit more for mine almost a year ago. Anyway make sure the pump runs at full speed all the time. I have my radiator fan on the MB header to control the speed with the CPU temp.
I bought the Corsair 600t case and I'm using the rear exhaust fan that came with the case in a push pull set up with the inner fan hooked up to the case fan controller with the 2 front fans and the top exhaust fan. This reduced the CPU temp greatly. It's very quiet and hums like a fish tank pump How do you like your's ?

Why not have a two or three wired fan with a fan speed controller vs. a PWM fan. PWM fans are not a low cost solution unless you can find them as a good deal in a FS forum.

I have the exact setup as your, 600T and H50, however, I only have one fan attached to it (the one that came with it). I find the fan too loud comparing to my old Dell XPS 435T which the whole computer is almost silent. I want to know if there is a quiet/silent fan I can replace it with. I just want to replace the fan on the H50 and not the case fans. The case fans are actually not bad. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check it out.

I have another question related to the H50 and processor temperature. The processor I have is 2600K and it is idling at 45 degrees. Is this normal or on the high side? What is the normal idling temperature? If it is high, what can I do/adjust to bring it down to normal? Thanks again!
