    Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD Review

    Any comments/thoughts on the product and the review? Frankly I kind of expected more from an Intel SSD. They're hardly better/equal/slower than most of the SF-1200 drives or the C300. Definitely a last-gen part coming out too late, and costing too much (relative to the new SF-2200 drives that will be coming out)

    A well done (as always) review piece by Allyn, though I have to disagree somewhat with his conclusions. Yes, it is a fast 3gb/s drive, but compared to new products there is very little to warrant a recommendation over the new gen SF drives, aside from Intel's higher reliability. Even at 3gbps (instead of 6) the vertex 3 outperforms

    Re: Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD Review

    Anything that brings down the cost per GB is good in my book

    * 40GB @ $89 ($2.25 / GB)
    * 80GB @ $159 ($1.99 / GB)
    * 120GB @ $209 ($1.74 / GB)
    * 160GB @ $289 ($1.81 / GB)
    * 300GB @ $529 ($1.76 / GB)
    * 600GB @ $1,069 ($1.78 / GB)

    I also happen to like the speed increase (seems to saturate the sata 3.0 Buss)

    I would love to see a sata 6.0 version for the same price per GB, but if the 120 is indeed at that price; I might pick one up

    you know for testing purposes
