[blargy] New build gets to post, but won't boot windows

    Upgraded from Q6600 to Intel i5 2500k w/ MSI p67A-C43.

The system gets through post and then tries to boot windows.

    Windows Boot Manager comes up:

    Windows failed to start.

    1. Insert installation disk
    2. Choose language and hit next
    3. Click repair computer

    Status: 0xc000000e

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

In the bios it sees my drives. I set my win7 OS drive to boot, it still loads the above screen. I have a windows disk image (expanded to be bootable) on a flash drive. I set that to the boot device. The mb acknowledges that the USB drive is in, and I still get the above screen.

Any helps would be most wonderful. Thanks

Try changing your drives to IDE (compatibility mode)

    See http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=475526

Also it always helps if not mandatory to clear the cmos after changing cpu. No drivers are needed of course but in your case the motherboard prolly was clueless, and once you rebooted a time or two it saw the new processor correctly.

Glad you got it going. The proc I was working with was just defective enough to not boot to Win 7. Memtest saw no issues, so the proc cache seemed fine but not good enough to load Win 7. Just FYI for you and other folks.
