    RAID 1 drivers question

I am setting-up a custom built PC with Asus M4A88TD-V EVO with a RAID 1 config. I already created the RAID 1 in the set-up menu, and set both SATA drives to RAID in SATA Confifuration in the BIOS.

Reading the manual I noticed that a disk with RAID driver(s) needs to be created.

Do I need to do this? I will be installing Win 7 Pro x64.

Can I install the OS, and then create the RAID disk with driver(s)?

Will the RAID driver(s) be installed during the OS installation?

    Please HELP.

    Hi

I believe W7 will install the drivers for you.
    Asus M8Z77-V Deluxe
    Intel 3770K
    G-Skill 1600 16G
    Corsair H100
    EVGA 670 GTX
    2 Corsair Force 3 120G (Raid 0)
    2 x Seagate 1T 6G
    2 Samsung SyncMaster T260HD Monitors
    Thermaltake Level 10 UGK
    Silverstone Olympia OP1000 1000W
    Windows 8

Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You might not need to make the disk. But the disk takes all of 3 minutes to make.. why not just do it to be on the safe side?

Yes, during the OS installation I put the DVD that came with the motherboard and selected the right driver for RAID. Once it installed, I replaced the Asus DVD with Win 7 installation DVD and the OS installation completed successfully.

    Thanks for the replies.

Glad it all worked out for ya. The Gigabyte people told me Windows 7 has the drivers and no others are needed, however I did the same thing you did without any problems.
