    Smile What's your favourite app?

Since a lot of us have them now, I figure it'd be nice to share some of our favourite smart phone app(s).

My first choice would have to be Google Sky Maps. The interface is so radically better then *any* other star chart program I've ever used. Leave it to Google to combine a phone's GPS, tilt sensors, and compass (which I didn't know they had) to make a completely intuitive interface that even a novice could simply pick up and find the real stars immediately.

Hmmm, okay. I'm not one of these guys who has 1,000,000 apps installed on my phone. But I have a few favorites.

Kindle - Good for reading your Kindle books on the go.

Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio - The only mobile game that's worth your time. Except for...

Game Dev Story - A Japanese game developer simulator! Great fun! The Android version is sort of a sloppy port of the iPhone version, but still fun.

Google Reader - Not a perfect version of Google's RSS reader, but good enough.

Speed Test - Just like Speedtest.net, check your network speed!

    Compass - Cool digital compass.

My Verizon (or your carrier's specific app) - Great way to keep track of your data, voice, messaging consumption and make sure you don't even go over your monthly limits.

    Google Maps (particularly navigation)

not only is it free, but it's arguably better than most stand alone gps units and paid gps apps.

use it ALL the time, even when going to places i know how to get to. it will route me around traffic if possible and give me an eta that's incredibly accurate most times (becomes less accurate if you speed of course, but then you just get there sooner)

street view of my destination when i arrive is great, no more searching for house numbers!

searching along a route could be better, right now it shows locations along your route great, but no option to add them to your current route, you just choose a new route to that location.

crowd sourced traffic times is probably the most genius part of it all! not just talking expressways and tollways either, just about any road can have traffic data, sometimes my whole route, no matter how rural or residential can offer traffic data.

now they just need to tweak map caching (they already have it, but it could be improved) and possibly allow you to download entire maps of your most traveled area.
